From the patchnotes today:

https://worldofwarships.com/en/news/game-updates/update-0103-german-destroyers-part-1/

So, Max I was kinda expecting to be for coal; didn't expect Vampire II for RP however, thought it would be up for FXP. Personally from stats alone I believe the ship to be pretty strong; time will tell I guess. Kinda sad for it since It's a historical ship that would like to get sometime.

Now makes me wonder what will Druid be offered for.:cap_wander_2:

A few other things to take note of are are addition of Legion of Honor Containers to the Armory, the completion of which gives you the ability to mount two flags and alternative camouflages for French ships.

As well as two Japanese Special special commanders, one available for coal and the other for doubloons, both feature improved Survivability Expert and improved Emergency Repair Specialist skills.

I'd guess FXP for Druid, replacement for Smalland. The question is how much they'll inflate the price.

Dunno if the price will be inflated, though I could see it happening depending on how broken the ship ends up being.

What I don't get is why WG isn't reducing Hayate's price. It's obvious very few people care for the ship and its price; a 1.5mil pricetag could boost it a bit. Who knows, maybe this will be one of the uses of the auction house.

But you can imagine the reactions of the people who paid the full 2 million for it.

I had been eyeing the coupon I'd been sitting on since Christmas and wondering what to spend it on. I'm sort of on the fence right now as to whether I was going to get enough steel for Plymouth before this one expired, and until I'd exhausted all possible crate chances in 0.10.2 I wasn't ready to use it on Marco Polo. But Immelmann looks interesting, and if I spend the coupon on her and get the Marco at full price, it's not that much more coal than what I currently have. (Yes, I could get both ships with coupons eventually and save even more coal, but getting a discount on steel is far more important.)

How would that work?  I bought the Hayate at the price it is, would I get a refund or something?  I don't think that a FXP refund, years later, is a thing that WG has ever done.

For what it's worth, I played the Hayate in 6-7 matches last night. It's not a bad ship.  The guns have that slow reload but they hit like a truck.

I agree. Hayate plays a lot like Gearing to me, but with some tradeoffs - better gun and torpedo alpha, slower reload. Better HP, smidge faster, but smidge worse turning, rudder shift, and concealment. You have some flexibility to run TRB instead of smoke, and you have usable AA unlike Shimakaze.

Why would you get a refund?

If price of graphic card goes down do people who already have it get refund?

We had some ship sales, there was no refund for players who already have ad it

The proper thing to do would be to give back the 500k FXP or anything equivalent. A coupon for the next FXP ship purchase or something. Of course this is science fiction and I have absolutely no expectation  such a thing would ever happen.

Nor is the ship from what I know necessarily bad, just overshadowed either by more flexible choices, or by better specialists. For what is worth, they messed up by releasing along with Smaland.

Yeah, if you are feeling a bit risky, you can swap the smoke for TRB and put 20 fish in the water.  I do do it from time to time, it can be fun.

I am sure WG "could" do it, there would just be a massive backlash from the players who bought it.  They have plans to offer old ships for new types of currency but a straight up price reduction, for the same currency that has already been paid, is not something they have ever done.

At any rate, if we want to continue this discussion about Hayate, we should probably start it's own thread and no derail this one about the Immelmann/Vampire.

It's far simpler just to leave the Hayate at her current price.

What world are you living in? :Smile_teethhappy: Hayate has the fastest-reloading IJN 127's in the game; spec fully into guns and she fires almost as fast as a stock Akizuki.

Yeah, agreed it could warrant it's own topic.

As for Immelmann/Vampire, Vampire looks pretty damn scary. Unless you have a Smaland with Radar, Radar cruisers or German Hydro, you are almost guaranteed to be losing your cap to a crawly Vampire with Hydro up.

Don't even get me started on a Smaland/Vampire combo, with Smaland moving in sync with the smoke puffs; potential for something absolutely disgusting.

Texas would like a word with you.  I paid $30 for it back in the day (my first premium), but you can get it now for $10, or even for free.

But I’m of the mind that ships, like anything, can get discounted.  If something is unpopular and not selling, you lower the price, have sales, whatever.  Anyone who bought the ship at 2 million FXP agreed that was an acceptable value when they made the transaction.

Really?  Maybe I need to look at my spec. :Smile_hiding:

Not surprising Immelmann is for coal, it’s the first premium CV available for that resource and the first T10 German premium.

Vampire is surprising and disappointing. Why would you release a nation’s only T10 behind a wall of steel or RP? Granted Vampire looks very, very strong and at least Ohio gets competition on what the best RB ship is

You can basically just turn it into a FXP ship.  Use FXP to chain reset a line, to get the RB points and off you go.

Here's some Immelmann gameplay I found on YT now that the embargo is lifted. I thought it would be interesting to show you all how the skip-bombers work so you can think about whether it's your thing or not.

Once upon a time, it felt like the strongest Special ships went for FXP or Coal; now they are Steel and RB.

I don't think I am even going to bother sleeping Tuesday night.  Just sit around drinking coffee and hitting F5.
