Cossack or Haida?

I just wanted to see what the community thought about this.  I'm currently working my way up the RN DD line, and I've heard the Cossack is an excellent, if difficult to use ship.  I'm also interested in the Haida because I hear it's fun (if single-purpose) and it's going away in three months or so.  Unfortunately there is no Commonwealth destroyer line at this moment, and I'm not sure likely it is that there ever will be one, so that's a dampener on my enthusiasm for picking up the Haida.  What does everybody else think?

Always grab what's going away because it means something.

Powerful ship + super popular + noted good performance = WG takes it away. 

They remove good, popular ships to limit complaints and try to make money. If a Tier 7 ranked, sprint, brawl, or whatever mode comes up it's going to be a top pick because its good.

If they were bringing back Dynamo, I would get the Cossack.

When the MacGyver Captain comes out you will regret not getting the Haida.

Each version will be appealing to players.

The shirtless one with sultry voice for the ladies. Comes with a Swiss Army knife in case a cat needs a tooth pulled or some tile laid down in the bathroom.

The hockey one with sultry voice for the guys, so they have a buddy in the thick of the fight. Spare mullet supplied for free.

The flannel one complete with a sultry voice for everyone else that want an outdoors type.

All have repair skills, optional duct tape, celery stalk borrowed from MacGruber for decoy CVs, narrative voice as repairs are done because science, and a Jeep parked on the back of the DD stern.

Jeep moves around with MacGyver in it with explosions 💥detonating around him at the port.

Every time he sinks a ship, both teams hear the theme music from the TV show.

Haida is very powerful in the right hands, and super stealthy to boot

Both are similar ships in that they excel at killing DDs and tend to struggle killing larger ships.  I do run IFHE on Haida since it has such high alpha on its guns and pitiful fire chance.  Here's games for each that run through some of the tools.

Cossack is the better ship, tier for tier. Haida is more unique.

Don't get me wrong, Haida is fun, and I'm especially fond of her because she's Canadian, but the IFHE and mid tier plating changes have really hurt this ship that's so very reliant on her HE dpm. The crawling smoke is great ... until you run into radar. Her torp DPM and range is not great, and her turret traverse and gun mount placement is bad.

Cossack, on the other hand, is basically an overpowered british DD with amazing guns, good torps (fewer, but very hard hitting, great range, great reload), has the british DD acceleration AND speed boost. And of course, those oh so sweet british DD smokes. And her turret traverse is WAY WAY better than Haida's.

Both ships have amazing concealment for their respective tiers.

My suggestion? Get both and enjoy Kraft Dinner for a few days.

But if you can only get one, get Haida, on the grounds that it's getting removed.

Both are very strong in the right hands....they play similar roles with similar types of striking abilities.....both are winners but there are subtle differences....I posted a Haida video not too long ago so you know I live the Haida....Where they are different is Haida has creeping smoke vs Cossack short quick reloading smokes.....Another difference is Haida has a top of the line health pool for tier 7 , Cossack not so much....Haida is sluggish,  Cossack is incredibly nimble and quick start from a stop......Both are beautiful and are great with different minor traits...you can't go wrong with either.....If I could only choose one though,  Haida is a better tier 7 dd (JMO) than Cossack vs tier 8 , Cossack has , Kidd , Le Terrible,  Le Fantasque  , and many other strong competition at tier 8....my point is  in ranked Haida is stronger,  JMO.....both are strong  , I have and love both....
