A lot of If's with USS Flint

Since the update I have heard many many people talk about Flint now being useless and I can see why they say that but,

If you are NOT up tiered

If you run up against a team with only 1 or no radar at all

If their is only 1 or no CV's

If you pay attention and use your low detectability

If you use islands to your advantage

If your patient and pick and choose your battles

You Can and will have good games. I took mine out and I am usually a very aggressive player as my wr shows. Just under 50%. All those if's happened in this game and it was fun. A Fiji finally got me while I was protecting a cap but it helped us win. Hope you guys have as good luck as I had in this game.

129k vs plebs is nothing spectacular. I did 134k once with Gadja Mada with guns online in a similar matchup. 

The woes about Flint are more than justified; especially after the changes to t7 MM. Meanwhile, smoke is overrated. And with Flint'$ huge size and drunk snail acceleration (even with propulsion mod) torping A Flint in smoke is relatively easy both ways even with hydro up. 

T8-9 battles it's even worse. Starting with t8 Soviet radar your maximum firing range is 900m within a Chappy firing range for nearly or over 40s if he's kitted for it. Most DDs have torp ranges ~10km at that tier too. There's no excuse for 11.1km range anymore, not even 13.4km range anymore.

Flint does have a lot of drawbacks post update. But in a good MM game she can still put up decent numbers. But 11 K range is horrible.

I deleted a full up flint in one broadside from a Mino at 2 km Poof gone. HE did fire back prior to death and didnt do that much.

Flint in my opinion is too crapto be in a real human vs human game.

You are basically saying as long as MM is good and you play smart, then Flint is fine. The same can be said for literally every ship.

As MM nor enemies are expected to cooperate, many players see Flint as being weak because there are too many drawbacks for what she offers.

flint normally doesn't see mino's unless it's in a fail div

Flint is weak in most situations. I was able to create my own situations and MM did me a favor so I had a good game. Yes any ship can, you are correct.

So what exactly was the point of this post? People say Flint is trash because it is, but any ship no matter how bad can pull numbers like that. I've gotten over 200k in Flint while bottom tier, it really doesn't mean much. Average stats mean a lot more than a single game, and Flint currently averages about as much damage as T6 Makarov...

So I've looked at the top 1 NA clan of super unicums in Hurricane League, which you can look up yourself. Each player's overall winrate is around 70%, half of them have Flint and Atlanta with 65-100% winrate. Only a couple have 200k top damage in Flint and Atlanta, couple have 80-100k. Like 20 of them have top damage between 130-180k. I estimate that a superunicum gets a 200k game in Flint like once every 100 games. They also have a wide 30-40% gun hit rate and that's probably where their damage swings come from. Also I forgot to look at torp hit rate, that's another factor.

So your 125k is pretty good compared to a superunicum and 200k is just a lucky game.
