This has probably been discussed before but I am wondering, shouldn't Q and E have the ability to go full rudder?

I know these keys are designated as a sort of auto rudder type thing. It's just, why would you want half rudder when you could go full?

My suggestion, leave it as is for one key press. Double key press for full rudder. I truly believe this would help the game!

... I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what Q and E do right now?

Wait does it actually do this?

I always understood it that pressing Q wouldn't turn as well as pressing and holding W.

If this is already fixed then hats off to WG! My gut says it isn't tho.

Why would you need to hold W once you've set it to full speed?

One press of Q / E turns the rudder to 50%. I find this very useful when I have to do a large turn in a ship with slow turrets, so the ship doesn't outturn its turrets and I can keep them on target. A double press puts the rudder at 100%. Pressing the a or d key while your rudder is set with q/ e resets the rudder to 0.

There’s a difference between “already fixed” and “the way it’s always been.”

Gut check time.

Why rely on your gut? There is a rudder position indicator in the game.

Yeah, I know all of this.

What I'm Saying:

In lieu of holding A or D, Q or E should also work full strength as an auto turn. This might've been fixed, but in the past it didn't turn completely to the same extent as holding A or D.

we have told you above... press E or Q twice you get full rudder... tap a or d and it is cancelled

works great no adjustment needed

Actually a single press of the "opposite" key (when referring to the Q & E keys) will only bring it back to 1/2 rudder from full rudder...

But either of the A/D keys will set it back to 0.

Right, right. Good catch.

I just mash the wasd keys as hard as I can, even if I’m full speed or turn.  The letters have been worn off my keyboard, in fact I don’t know how those keys still work.  I have the sneaking suspicion one of them will finally die, at the worst possible moment, of course :cap_old:
