I just watched the how it works video on modules, and after hearing how they don't allow engine rooms to be destroyed the thought occurred that WOWs could allow one engine room of two to be permanently destroyed in a game for a 1/3 penalty to ship's speed. I agree that the game would be absolutely miserable if a ship ended up dead in the water or with the rudder stuck permanently but engine room casualties that slowed the ship would make the game more challenging and offer hope to slow battleships.

While a good idea the game does not have multiple engine or boiler rooms. It is just engines just as why the rudder is out is not factored which could be many reasons from a bridge hit to the rudder itself to the steering gear being damaged.
