It really is a treat to get your hands on a ship you thought you'd never see return. Like when Albert was sold a few summers ago, or I had a buddy pull Musashi out of a Supercontainer.

Never thought I'd see ignus and Ragnarok return with it being a collab (like Fury on WoT). Thanks for bringing her back:fish_cute_2:

Or you could just get an Amagi for free...

Besides, everyone knows Tzeentch is where it's at!

Love me some Warhammer 40K.

On the other hand, not a fan of battleships.

I'll do the missions of course, and enjoy the expendable camos, but would like to suggest integrating other classes of ship when/if you do another collaboration.

LOL, I used to play both sides of the field.  Still have my Imperial Guard Army, and most of a Black Templar army gathering dust in a box somewhere.  Sold my Thousand Sons, Space Wolves, and Necrons several years ago.  No one plays around here anymore, and got tired of driving 45-60 mins to play games, and the multiple rule changes.

Our host must be running out of new ideas again........

What ships are these "gimmicks" based on?  Anything special about them; other than the fact they are from some other genre?

If not, and they are "just more clones" - PASS.

There is real value in other games to earn and spend money on if not.......

Pretty much, they are dressed up Amagi's. not worth actually paying for.

WG devs can create Azur Lane, HSF, sci fi, Transformers and Warhammer skins& avatars, but a single Indian captain for an Indian ship, is still too much for them, apparently. #mysore

I change my forum nick twice a month, when bored. besides, changing your IGN (not the same thing) is far cheaper than purchasing a cosmetic paint job for an existing ship in game. So why not?

I liked Amagi so much, I wanted a premium version. Even though I already had Musashi and Mutsu. The original collaboration came out at just the right time to pry open my wallet.

You get slightly better sigma but a slower reload (by three seconds). In the original collab, the XP bonus mission was for the very first time unlimited over a time period instead of just over 25 battles. Realizing what this meant, I flogged the living bejesus out of my Ignis in Randoms and co-op, put 400,000 ship XP on her, and spawned a 19 pointer.

(The sequel: CUT FORWARD IN TIME, out of all the Santa crates that dropped either free or as part of the Hizen dockyard in late '20-early '21, I pulled the Kii and the Ashitaka. LOL.)

Now...

IF you want a premium Amagi with an extra trick up her sleeve, Kii is probably the way to go (she has torpedoes).

If you are in the market for a premium Amagi and the absence of torps doesn't bother you, but you want to buy one of these to flog the XP bonus for all it's worth, go right ahead. The Ignis looks cooler (IMHO, opinions may vary) but the Ragnarok captain's voiceovers are funnier.

AND FINALLY, MOST IMPORTANTLY:

If you just want the capabilities of an Amagi-class battleship AND you don't need premium captain-posting rights, yeah, I agree; just grind for the Amagi.

Remember that in 0.10.2, the Big Hunt Part 2 offers the ability to earn a themed permacamo for that Amagi.

The choice is yours.

They're premium Amagi-class BBs with a slightly higher sigma and a slightly longer reload, a bit of genre eye candy, and the ability to flog them for 30 days to farm a metric ship-ton of XP.

Buy if you want, decline if you don't, but coming here just to whine that it's being offered again seems more than a little bit petty to me.

I bought one of them last year, don't need the other one, and thus won't be coughing up for an entire ship this time . I'm going to do the mission chain because it costs nothing for a shot at the other ship. If it doesn't turn up, I have enough dubs for four of the Chaos containers; I might give that a shot.

@Hapa_Fodder - Given that I already have one of these, does the crate check my port and then give me something else or do I have a chance at pulling a duplicate Ignis Purgatio?

In addition, while it may not be Wargaming's call, I think they left money on the table by not offering the commanders separately.

Given that WG was recently told off by Cypriot trading standards for rigging loot crates with this very mechanism, it might attract the wrong sort of interest if they used this approach again.

So, as expected, WG is now behaving with the following (from the premium shop product description)

image.png.a89da79441151d339e8632c72fc0cf68.png

Quote

You can have an unlimited number of Warhammer 40,000 Commanders with unique voiceovers.

If you already have this ship in your Port, you will receive 12,500 Doubloons as compensation.

Whine?  I asked a question??  And yes, for the record, they are regurgitated "gimmicks" to spend money on.......(a hint: that is all our host has left.....  Seen anything first world, cutting edge new in the game these past two years>>??  No.)

If you are looking to lose a customer to your streaming goals........your attitude is getting old.   I enjoy most of what you have to say; but lately, I'm a bit confused about your approach.....

Of course, this is just my opinion but, if you want "customers" to view and support your efforts, even a deplorable like me, is still a customer.....  We not agree on a lot of late but, I still try to appreciate and understand all opinion.

That's if you buy it. It doesn't answer the question I asked with regard to rolling it if I already have one.

Bearing in mind that lockout of duplicate ships is the basic mechanism underlining spamming for banned ships at Christmas, I would actually expect a duplicate lockout.

Wow.....  I don't see the game as "I want, I want, I want...."  ( a Hook reference....)  The game is more than you or I.....  When I see people I know and care about abandon a game they invited me to (kicking and screaming).......I have concerns.

What do I want?  One thing that is important:  Listen; and, integrate the customer into the change process.  Create a process that lists our suggestions and tracks what we ask for.  In a mostly dead game, that was just sold, the new corporation took several weeks to do just what I've said....  That gives me hope.   The gaming industry. gold star paradigm is LoL......   Have you ever read some of the HBS or other industry "papers' on their customer support processes?  Or, studied High Reliability Organization (HRO's) Customer Support processes that keep those corporations in number one positions; and, are leading the world in process and product efficiency theory????   No, I doubt you have......it's not "what you do !" and, that's OK....  It is what I have done and still, to this day lecture on and teach.........sometimes, for free.......!

Again, I want based on what I expect; what I know is quality stuff (a Carlin reference); all of which, is based on where I come from and what I do............  I'm happy you are happy.........even though, I fail to understand why?

Wow.....  I don't see the game as "I want, I want, I want...."

I want a game that's fun to play and makes me want to go on playing it. That's what I'm getting right now.

In the CV rework, I got a mechanism which encouraged me to play CV outside of low-tier co-op because RTS CV was a misery for me in T6+ Randoms. It opened up a whole new sector of the game to me.

The commander skill rework made me rethink the way I've been setting my captains up, and to a significant degree it's affected (and will continue to affect) the way I play the game, and not in a bad way. For example, lacking Priority Target as my automatic go-to for destroyers is probably going to make a better DD player out of me (on a 'keep your head on a swivel or die' basis; failure is a good teacher). Having six points worth of all-in torpedo skills has encouraged me to think about setting up some of my DD captains very differently - e.g. ditching RPF (and having to rely even more on my wits) and having to think about where those extra four points can be spent. How does it affect this ship? That ship? Does the same captain suit both, or do I have to build one of my other captains differently for the premium? Do I want to set up one of my captains as an all-in weapon specialist for co-op, where long-term damage tanking and repair aren't so much of an issue? Do I sacrifice survivability for dead-eye to increase the potential lethality of my battleships in the opening phases of the fight? etc. etc.

All of these are questions that I ENJOY having to consider because it's brought more depth and variety into my setups.

As for the highest-rank commander regrind, I'm still not happy about the magnitude but I just got my second 19 pointer up to 21 last night (the first was promoted immediately) and I did it while fulfilling other agendas within the game. That's the other thing I like thinking about - the thing that keeps me coming back - how do I interlock all of this grinding and regrinding and gameplay so that it advances MY in-game agendas and isn't just a tiresome chore?

Much as I like Wargaming most of the time, finding ways to make their agenda serve mine is one of my malicious little pleasures.

reread my post, in theory WG can no longer offer lootcrates that reroll based on items you already possess, because in a recent tribunal, it was decided that the practices of "shortlisting" loot crate contents, and/or rerolling based on user past purchases, were in breach of advertising standards. Shortlists and rerolls mean that consumers do not have equal chances, instead their chances depend on what items/services they already "own", i.e "unfair".

Of course, it will be interesting to see if WG continues  to submit to the Tribunal's decision. But I would assume WG will tread carefully, given that the judgement was made in Cyprus, where WarGaming is headquartered.

If there was a way to just purchase the commanders then I would because I'd love the voice packs.  But I don't need what is essentially a tech tree ship.  Perhaps I'll get a few crates and see if a commander will drop.  Anyone know if the odds are good?  The premium transformers crates were pretty consistent with dropping commanders, iirc.

if you already own the ships  then why is there different values in compensation  so if you only get one and you already have it you get 10,000 doubloons for it but if you buy the package  you only get  8.750 doubloons per ship and not 10,000 doubloons for each ship
