They were some of the most feared BB's in their day. Just my opinion.

Correct. For the X-craft, they are referred to as saddle mines. 140955-10244-pristine.webp Edited February 27, 2021 by Charon2018 add text

I think it is very sad, that WG cannot even get the historical events right... I'm not sure what you're getting at here. The anti-torpedo netting mentioned in two photo captions of this topic was only one of the ship's defenses against multiple attacks by both Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, plus one small raid by the Soviets. Tirpitz was indeed damaged by the RN's X-craft attack, but she was finally sunk by RAF Tallboy bombs. WG has provided some excellent photos from this period. While personally I feel they are in the right tier, it would not hurt my feelings at all if they bumped their main battery accuracy, shell penetration, and armor values a bit. I enjoy having the H-39 class at T9, and a H-42 design at T10. Battleships certainly evolved after Bismarck’s design, and the class was intended to be a stepping stone to the kinds of BBs found at T9+.

Original mentioned midget subs and torpedoes. You could PM Hapa_Fodder and ask if that was indeed the case. The opening paragraph and photo captions of the OP's topic above mention nothing of midget subs. Anti-torpedo nets surrounding the Tirpitz at anchor are mentioned. I think you're reading into his post a little bit. Edited February 28, 2021 by Charon2018 add text
