An informative article comparing the Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers and the Type 45 Class Destroyers by an author named N.R.P. from the Defencyclopedia. I think he sums it up best saying that they were built with different emphases and that they excel in their own areas. A good article for less technically savy people like myself. :cap_wander_2:

Assuming that actual ranges might be longer than published ranges is a wash.   Say 120km but the actual ranges should be 150km.  You are going to be dealing with much closer ranges when the targets are supersonic, or has a low RCS, or is creeping just above the sea line which means engagement is only possible once the missile is in line of sight with the ship's radar and has moved over the radar horizon.  That can only be around 30km to 40km or so depending on the height of the ship's radar.
