Yeh ripping 50 or 60k off a ship happens often, this skill rework has been a total disaster for gameplay.

Before the new cmdr skill came in Vermont was already performing like that. Just remember, Slava has MUCH better accuracy than Vermont so it actually receives an even bigger boost than Vermont does.

Vermont is very different play style than other ships but if you come from Yamato you would have the basics down...except this time you are not soviet-hate-penalized with a massive vertical dispersion. It having 34km max range when using spotter plane is fantastic as well :)

Despite no speed and stupid long gun reload people seem to be liking the new us bb.

Why?

Because Vermont is the only good one out of all these new USN BBs.

457mm x12 is the single saving grace.  It is a MASSIVE GRACE to be sure, and it is a benefit she has to bludgeon people with.

The rest:  MinneSLOWTA and Kansas have worse shells than their USN peers that same tier.  Vermont's AP Power competes with the best in Tier X Battleships.

In addition, 457mm AP has big Overmatch benefits even against Tier X Cruisers and their fancy 30mm plating that can be used to angle and bounce AP shells smaller than 430mm.  Vermont slings up to 12 of these powerful shells in a salvo.  That's 12 dice rolls in a single salvo to try and ruin someone's day.

Premiums?  There's been no Premium USN BBs like these where the split takes place.  No other USN BBs with 16" or larger x12 main batteries, except Montana, and she's a tech tree ship.

It's right there in my feedback about Deadeye.

"Also likely to have a negative effect on the gameplay by increasing the temptation to play at the max possible range that's already strong with some players."

Funny thing is, they did this while at the same time killing off completely the ONLY thing that increased the temptation of players to get into close range: secondaries.

Remove citadels and fire damage ... replace with debuffing (citadel hits=massive engine power loss for X time, fires= loss of max vis range) and remove the bulk of a ship's HP from the superstructure and put it on the lower hull...making superstructure when destroyed have that ship lose the ability to send and receive team spotting damage.

That alone will change how the entire game plays...ships will maneuver to fight not just focus on raw damage dealing by exploiting silly game mechanics.
