When does WG plan to fix the "chat server unavailable" problem??

This is an old known problem that WG somehow doesn't care to fix. This happens way too often. After this new patch, this "chat server unavailable" issue even persists for a much longer time. Before this patch I only need to wait for a few second for chat server to come back up. Now? After playing one game, two games, still down.

Fix this. Oh, and also, fix "Dead Eye" skill please, seriously.

If it's the port problem then why it only happens sometimes and sometimes doesn't? When the problem happens, it's always after you come out of a battle.

sometimes things like the chat uses a range of ports, 20000-25000 thats 5000 different ports something in the game is using at random(i think they do this just in case some other program is using the port already). worth a shot bud hope it solves your problem i have never had your issue.

Thanks. Yeah it's weird. Looks like a lot of people are having this issue and a lot of people don't. Same for my clan mates, half and half.

I've logged my own ticket on this issue.  Prior to version 0.10.0.0.3346720 I would intermittently get the "Chat Server Unavailable" message through out a game session.  Now, with this version installed, once I play my first battle of the session, I completely lose access to chat and Divisions.  So, I figured I would add my challenge to the ticket pile.  Interestingly, neither of the people I division with regularly have the chat issue at all.  It would be great if for known issues they had ticket report option of "Me, too" to allow more people to chime in on shared problems

1 single guy in our clan has that issue.  He can be online but not show up as online in the clan list,  but we can search him and add to a division.  We've never figured out a work around for him, but only one it happens to in our clan.  Less of an issue for us since we are usually using voice chat with him anyways.

Have you tried a clean install of the game?  The only recurring issue I ever had was solved by uninstalling and reinstalling.  I was getting random disconnects(I suspected when specific ships were in play, maybe I had some file corruption).

In response to my ticket, WG is saying the issue should be corrected in the 10.1 release that will go live shortly.  We'll see.

Same here! As @capt_carl wrote... I will wait for the release 10.1.

I just saw the release notes for 10.1 and I don't see a fix for our chat problem list.  Not holding my breath...

The new client did not resolve the issue.  Will have to see if the server upgrade makes a differences.

According to @Hapa_Fodder on the weekly podcast... You have to clear out your blacklist of every single person...

After you've done that... The issue is resolved.

@Hapa_Fodder

After thousands of actions like shut off the antivirus and others,
thanks to a Professional Game Programmer who is member of our Clan,
he gave me the solution; following my actions when I shared my screen
and the BIG ISSUE was that not all the "ports" were open.

World of Warships, according to the IT programmer ; use differents ports.
One for the game itself.
Another for the Armory Room.
Other for the In Game Chat and so on...
And another for the Shipyard...
And here is were the game crash because the port is not open.

So, he drove me through the configuration of my modem router until find the "DMZ" setup.
DMZ (desmilitarized zone) where all ports for "this" game were opened.

And voilá! Everything works okay!

The Professional Game Programmer (member of our Clan) told me that this is the easy way.
Open all for Wargaming because it is not a security risk because its a game.

The other way is have full access to the modem router and open port by port.
Wargaming technical support knows which are; and do the proper adjustment.

I took the easy way.
Found the DMZ set up.
Input my IPv6 (unique for every computer even in a home net) and done!
I got the chat back again.

The IPv6 can be see using the DOS command: ipconfig.

Not always is uninstall and install is the solution...
The matter is to find the problem and get the solution.
Have to say that every modem router has its own way to access, user, password and setup menu.

Hope it helps...

PS:
I would like that Wargaming upload a tool to check if all ports are open.
And if the check results that not all ports are open, this tool let the player do the ports open.
It will save a lot of time to the player and to the technical support.
I know that are several programs to do this, like Port Forwarding  https://portforward.com/ports.htm,
but it is not a free program and World of Warships is not listed. (https://portforward.com/tactical/#W)

I agree... Its the LAST option never the first... It works for some but not for all...

The information I gave you, seems to work... Try it out... You may not have to go the programmers level for the solution.

@Hapa_Fodder

I already opened on the DMZ ports for War of Warships and "everything" works fine.
I have not to clear my blacklist and so far, everything works good. Not problems at all.

The Professional Game Programmer is a member of our Clan.
It was just easy as share my screen in Discord and follow his instructions.
In less than two minutes, every problems with the game gone.

Once again, I think that Wargaming should give to the players a tool to check and open ports
and finish with the recurrent problem of this issue.
It is just my opinion, which would be arguable; as any kind of opinion.
