70% increase to commander xp

With the commander rework the required xp for a maxed commander increased by 70% just for 2 skill points. You have to get more xp for the last 2 skill points then for the first 17.  Retraining and commander dismissal also reflects this. If they would have continued the pattern for xp cost increase that exists from 10-19 then 20 should have cost around 345,000, and 21 should have been around 389,000.

10 to 11 is a 15,000 increase. 11 to 12 is a 18,000 xp increase. 12 to 13 is a 21,000 increase. 13 to 14 is a 24,000 increase. 14 to 15 is a 27,000 increase. 15 to 16 is a 30,000 increase. 16 to 17 is a 33,000 increase. 17 to 18 is a 37,000 increase. 18 to 19 is a 41,000 increase. Each increase increases by 3000 each time except for 18 to 19 which is 4000. 19 to 20 is an increase of 200,000. 20 to 21 is an increase of 300,000. 

The last 2 levels are arbitrarily tacked on with massive xp cost increase with no basis on any thing.

Because, reasons

 

I’m sure part of it is because just like any other in game resource they need a way to have people use it. I had enough to move 4 commanders to 21 points and I know there are many people with much more than that ECXP laying around

From 18-19 points used to cost (brace yourself...this is not gonna be a mistype or an exaggeration...) 10M XP (that's right...10,000,000 XP...for just 1 point)...& there was Zero (0) ECXP options so all 10M XP needed to be ground out on each individual commander (on just the TT & premium ships available in that 1 nation only).

The incredible thing is that some people actually did it. And there were far fewer premiums available in those days, too!

Yep...& when 0.6.0 dropped they got enough ECXP from each of them (because some even had more than 1) to make 5 extra 19 point commanders (& 1.5M out of 1.7M of a 6th) from scratch.

I had nine 19 point commanders at the end of 0.9.12, which is the same as 17 million Commander XP and change. But that was three years across multiple ships, and with all the flags, camo and cr*p that we have now (including 65% bonus on Warships-exclusive premium time instead of the old 50%). The patience required to get an OG 19 pointer must have been immense.
