9000 doubloons, what to buy

So, I currently have bought 9000 doubloons, but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what to get, one of my options is to get the mainz, I heard she is a beauty to play, but u have to play smart. or I was thinking Kidd with its great guns. but I do rlly enjoy battleships. i know I don't play much, but that's what I'm trying to improve on.

Mass is going away so think of that one. Also le terrible is a beast if you know how to use it.

yea, Mass is a decent choice, but if I chose her, what captain skills would u recommend

Well skills are changing soon with the upcoming skill rework. In the mean time you could use PT, AR, SI, AFT, MSFC, and FP. If you want full secondaries switch SI for BFT.

I also recommend Massachusetts 

1. Great history- her south dakaota class line had much action, such as USS South Dakota and USS Washington at Guadalcanal.

 She personally shelled Jean Bart along with USS ranger in a move by the USN to prevent French ships from falling into German hands, supported operation torch, then in the pacific served in many campaign such as the the Gilbert and Marshall Islands campaign in 1943 and in 1944 the Philippines campaign. She is now a museum ship as well.

2. Strong battleship in WOWS

One of the only ships with a base secondary range of 7.5 km, secondaries can be pushed to over 10 km

strong armor profile and one of the only good aa ships left from the CV rework that can really shred planes

That is why she is formidable in competive  game modes like ranked

 

3. She will be removed soon and it is uncertain if she will come back for sale, possible she might only be on crates

i appreciate the recommendation good sir, and I always love a good history lesson.

and yes, I heard the secondaries are crazy good on this ship, one of the reasons why I might go full secondary build

Just be aware we are not yet sure what the upcoming skill rework will do to full secondary  builds. At least I have not yet encountered an absolute "this is what it will do" - because until it releases, we can't be sure.

I would wait for a patch or two until some of the dust surrounding the captain skill rework settles. As others have mentioned, there is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding how certain ships and builds will be effected. If you need to spend the resources now (I can’t imagine why though, since AFAIK there aren’t any coupons expiring soon), Mainz would be a pretty safe bet because she doesn’t really have any gimmicks and her performance is not heavily tied to captain skill selection. She’s simply a very solid gun platform with 38mm HE pen right out of the box.

If you want the Mass, don’t wait for another patch.  I believe she’s available until Feb. 17th.  I just recently got the Black version, and she is a very fun ship.
