How do the rest of us get game tokens like the streamers are getting. i have noticed that a few have jumped significantly from a few hundred to over 5k tokens this morning.  fair is fair we are all supposed to be equal testers here.

When we begin Open Beta, any tokens that were received from the purchase of a preorder bundle will be converted into doubloons. Slightly off topic here, but speaking of the "great wipe" will we lose all our ships that we ground out when it switches to OBT, or will we just lose the commanders' xp?

It's a hard wipe; everything will be reset to essentially what you would have if you just started playing again on a new account.

so there really is no point is blowing tokens on free experience conversion or commander skills training etc at all until open beta then?

It is more of an early access at this point.

Even after we hit open beta, there would still be almost no point (aside from the point of testing the feature, of course) because at the end of open beta, they'll probably do another hard wipe, just like they did at the end of the WoWp open beta. MAYBE you'll get some kind of compensation for the xp and credits you earned in the previous tests? (I got about 55k free xp and 2.5 mil credits for "compensation" for the xp and credits i earned in the last two weekend alpha tests) I haven't heard anything about that though.

Incorrect

Any spent in OPEN beta will not be given back. Any gold spent in CLOSED beta you will get back when the accounts get wiped at the start of open beta.

Basically spend your gold in the closed beta try out all the ships you want as you get refunded when the Open Beta start so you can spend your gold on the ship you really want without buying it blindly.

Guys, this is simple, why are you making it harder than it is?

 

Billy gets the three preorder ships, 20000 tokens, and 90 days premium in CBT.  He unlocks one tier ten, buys a couple of the tech tree premiums, all his premium time gone, and eventually spends all his tokens.  CBT then moves into OBT.

 

Billy logs into the game for the first time in OBT.  What does Billy see?  The starter ships for each nation with a zero skill commander, the number of extra port slots WG is willing to give us, 20000 doubloons, 90 days of premium, and the three preorder ships with their own port slots and a zero skill commander.  The premiums he bought in the tech tree and all commanders and normal ships are gone.

 

From OBT to live, Billy logs in and quite possibly but yet to be confirmed: nothing is removed or added, any remaining premium time is added to your overall premium time with the other WG games, any remaining doubloons are added to your gold that is shared with all WG games.

 

This last point will probably be clarified and or confirmed or rejected before OBT starts.
