Syncing accounts anytime soon, it's almost 2021?

Why can't we sync our older Wargaming accounts to this Steam version yet? The Wargaming Client is ugly and unoptimized, and I feel like I'm not the only to say this but I really don't want to use it, that's the whole point of you releasing it on Steam (to avoid the client). Just like how EA games that are newly released on Steam now don't need the EA Client anymore, because the third-party clients are useless. That's very 2005, where every company wanted to have their own client but in the long-run it failed.

What makes the Steam version so different when you still need to sign into your Wargaming account in the main-menu. Just let us sync our accounts, it's really not that hard.

If one side of the development team can put the same time and enough effort in designing new premium ships, the API development team can put the same time and effort into making a more unified system in place. Just to name a few games that have cross-progression; Call of Duty, Destiny and Fortnite. Wargame can easily do it.

Wargaming, we're not living in 2005 anymore. I want to play your game on Steam, the Wargaming client is horrible and very unoptimized.

the Wargaming client

What are you calling the "client"?  The Wargaming Game Center (WGC)?  Here we call it the launcher.  The client is the client-side game installation itself.

You can play WoWs on Steam.  Try it.

He means, you cant login with the same login info on steam that we use on the launcher. Steam requires you to create a new account.

That's true.  But look at his battle count.  It wouldn't be a tragedy.

True, plus steam players get rewards that non steam players don't

Would you look at that, a toxic user. No wonder why no one plays WoWs anymore.

Steam would take a 30% cut of all sales which is why it wont happen.

And your point is? World of Warships is already on Steam, if it did affect them that bad, they would have removed/delisted the game.

If money was an issue then, EA and many other games would be releasing their games onto Steam. This all falls down to a non-unified cross-progression system, not money.

Not sure why it's hard to understand. Why would WG allow existing accounts to move to steam and take a 30% hit? It would be a poor business decision. Instead they get some new players on steam who would not have joined the game otherwise while keeping their existing playerbase free of a 30% hit to revenue.

It is about money, companies make decisions around money; kind of why they exist.

I would disagree, it would be a fantastic business decision because that means more players will now be playing the game. I personally don't want to have 6 clients/launchers on my PC because of dumb 2005 decisions that companies made. Again, just look at EA, newly released titles on Steam now don't need the EA Client anymore... why because the third-party clients are useless. It's the idea of giving the player the option to transfer over, it's not mandatory for anyone to transfer over, the option is there for people who want it. That's what good developers do, they listen to feedback and adapt.

The amount of players they lose from this is likely minuscule and pales in comparison to the revenue they would lose. WG tracks all this stuff and if there were enough players quitting over this they would change it.
