There was a poll where the majority of subreddit readers asked for money loot box hauls to be banned.

Showing getting a Missouri or Friesland out of a box when their probabilities are so low is unhealthy as it promotes the inaccurate presentation of extreme bias towards rare favorable outcomes.

Exactly what it says. There is a pinned thread on the subreddit to post lootbox results. The mods will be going through and deleting such posts posted elsewhere.

Reddit are going insane for reasons I cannot discuss because discussing politics here attracts banhammers.

That being said, keeping all the "Look what I got" posts in one place isn't actually that bad an idea.

There's a single post that's pinned during the Holidays where you are allowed to post your haul.

The only other way to make a thread on a haul is if it's humor related and Makarov is concerned :cap_horn:.

Could we do that with anti-cv threads?

Please?

People only post good results, so it's a positive bias to crates that doesn't reflect reality. If only winners post, then everyone thinks everyone wins.

Thnx for the explanations....  It's just that what they are describing is a nono in the USA right?

A nono in the USA? Why would the USA have anything to do with this?

Like any privately-owned online forum, Reddit has complete control over what content is or isn’t posted on its platform. Free speech laws and other such regulations only apply to the government, not private entities.

The First Amendment protects us from the government restricting our speech. Reddit is, thankfully, not the government.

I fully agree with what the mods at r/WoWs did, people posting their lootboxes results only adds fuel to the fire, it just keeps promoting gambling.

"Commercial speech, as the Supreme Court iterated in Valentine v. Chrestensen (1942), had historically not been viewed as protected under the First Amendment. This category of expression, which includes commercial advertising, promises, and solicitations, had been subject to significant regulation to protect consumers and prevent fraud."

Things that should be moderated;

  • Posting your scoreboard - we don't care
  • Posting your youtube video - we don't care
  • Asking "what ship should I get" , pretend your an adult capable of making decicions, we don't care.
