I like it but $8 a month for 8 episodes once a year is too much, gonna drop Disney and maybe get it every February for 30 days to catch up.

I have watched all available episodes up to season 2 ep 7.

I even binged watched the series 4 times, last night was the 4th time.

The series tells the story and explains a lot of the gaps in Star Wars.

In my experience with the Star Wars franchise, many questions that were a problem to me have been answered.

Although Watching all the animated series as well ...Rebels.... Clone Wars, The Mandalorian continues to keep my interest in the saga of Star Wars.

I was a big fan of Rebels when it was on. I didn't like Clone Wars at first, but I eventually began to like it. I need to go back and fill in the gaps I have missed. As for the Mandalorian, it is pretty epic, although if you want to get people to watch, just tell them what happened two episodes ago as a tease spoiler, and they will watch just for that.

I hated Clone Wars, but I loved (and still do love) Ahsoka Tano, so I suffered through every season of Clone Wars just for her.

I love The Mandalorian enough to tolerate the major plot holes that plague it. SPOILERS AFTER THE JUMP.

Spoiler

1. How can a tracking fob home in on a single tiny life form from across the galaxy, but the person handing them out like candy from a sketchy white cargo van can't tell you anything about that life form except how old it is?

2. Why does a secret Imperial base have the ability to genetically scan everyone who enters it and compare that data against presumably secret New Republic databases to identify Cara Dune but is totes OK with admitting people with genetic scan results that would read "UNKNOWN PERSON NOT IN IMPERIAL SERVICE" and "FORMER IMPERIAL SOLDIER LAST KNOWN LOCATION NEW REPUBLIC PRISON, NEVER ASSIGNED TO THIS BASE"?

3. Why does a former Imperial soldier who's been a criminal for the past seven years still have valid codes and access to Imperial bases and networks?

4. What benefit will we get from finding the current coordinates to Moff Gideon's ship? You know. The one that is already demonstrated to have engines and a faster-than-light drive?

But I'm willing to forgive all this because Slave I used a seismic charge to take out two TIE fighters, and it was in atmosphere, which makes more sense than the last time we saw one used against Obi-wan Kenobi in an asteroid field. In space. Where no one can hear you scream.

With the Emperor, being dead, everyone in Empire has gone stupid.

That is why stormtroopers can no longer fight and you just can walk into any Empire base.

Katee Sackhoff is looking good !! Luke saves the day.

After season 3 the Syfy network canceled The Expanse, the best SciFi show on TV since Battle Star Galactica. Amazon picked the show up and last year released all of season 4's episodes on the same day. I'm guessing Amazon figured if all the people who were watching the show on SyFy paid for Amazon Prime for a year that would pay for the show.  A couple of weeks ago Amazon dropped the first 3 episodes of season 5 and will release one episode each week thereafter.

A lot of people are now giving the show a 1 star rating because they can't pay for just one month and binge watch all the shows. Those folks are saying they will wait until all the episodes have been released then just pay for one month or watch the show on an illegal streaming site. That so may people were just paying for one month to watch the show might be why this has happened.

The Expanse cancelled: Why has The Expanse been cancelled?

I've been catching up on a lot of news regarding the infighting between the two factions of Star Wars creators in Lucasfilm.

There's the Kathleen Kennedy that did those new movies:  TFA, Rogue One, TLJ, Solo, ROS.  Which were for most parts, controversial with the fans and did way below expectations of Disney, to the point of alarm.  Star Wars is supposed to be the big money maker, after all.

Then there's John Favreau who was called in from the Marvel movies to work on Star Wars, and he did it with The Mandalorian.  This show is literally the only new Star Wars that's doing good, and more importantly, liked by the fans.

There's a lot of stuff going on in Lucasfilm between these two factions.  The former is on the way out, and the latter is on the rise.  Fascinating stuff.

Another big twist on the success of this show is that the characters for most part, aren't really about Jedi / Sith / The Force.  A lot of them are normal people and the story isn't centered around Jedi and all that like Star Wars typically is.  Yes, we have "our moments" and all, but for most parts, the show is about regular people, the kind that make up 99.9% of the Star Wars galaxy.  I remember long ago talking about possible Star Wars movies or whatever that's about regular soldiers and stuff.  Some said it's impossible to have a good Star Wars show if the main character isn't a Jedi.

Which is why I am happy for The Mandalorian's success.  Mandalorians are well equipped, trained, etc. than the typical guy out there in the SW galaxy, but they're still normal people.
