Special thanks to the team for bringing home a good win.

I'm still trying to find a good stride with Le Fantasque, but Vauquelin was a blast and is only the second DD that I've ever earned a Kraken, the other being top tier in Kamikaze. I'm looking forward to the rest of the line.

It's so much harder to do torpedo runs in that thing, you only have .5km of concealment to work with.

I struggle with the RU gunboat DDs as well though, so I have to assume that I am just bad at open water/not stealthy gunboat DDs. I can make smokeless DDs work if their concealment is at least somewhat competitive but not so much when DDs are designed to be firing pretty much non stop. From tier 1-8, they are strictly DD hunters. Play them like a DD Battlecruiser. Find another DD, pop reload booster and gun them down and take the cap. At tier 9-10, your a 2nd line DD, partner with another DD, have them spot other DDs for you, than gun down those DDs. You can also from tier 8 up, use reload booster and citadel broadside cruisers for massive damage in a short space of time. Use stealth to your advantage. I guess that makes sense, but how do you find those other DDs when they outspot you by at least a kilometer? My experience so far in limited number of games has been pretty much get outspotted by enemy DD and focused by enemy team. Trade with enemy DD as much as possible then bail or risk death. I feel like I struggle trying to wiggle while keeping shots on target and that's not going to win me trades in gunboat DDs.

I speed boost straight into them, they can't escape against French DD speed. In a non-CV match, I speed boost straight into the cap and get into position to pounce when they enter. If they're smart, they'll pop smoke and run away, usually they get caught off guard and can't react in time. I myself have not used RDF but others have. I personally don't really bother to wiggle. I will either go straight only pr maneuver in one direction (I either commit to only making starboard or port inputs) to vary my speed and slowly disengage from potential cruiser fire.
