Thanks @BrushWolf.  I would like to see the Ward as a premium one day.

I think the APD version but with torpedoes would be the best option as that would give her rather good AA for the tier, 3 x 3" dual purpose, 1 x 40mm AA, and 5 x 20mm AA which would make tier 4 CV take pause.

USS Ward was built in my hometown of Vallejo, California.  Specifically at Mare Island Naval Shipyard.  The USN used to have a strong presence there until the base closures, realignment of the 1990s with the end of the Cold War and Desert Storm / Shield.

For WWII the place took care of a lot of warships and built submarines.

Battleship USS California was built in Mare Island, commissioned in 1921.  I think California was the only USN Battleship built on the west coast of the USA?

USS Ward being built at Mare Island.  Wikipedia says Mare Island built her in 17.5 days.

Mare Island also built CAs Chicago and San Francisco.  The shipyard built lots of submarines.

And San Francisco below.

When I was in my Junior and Senior years of high school 1992-1993, I took Tae Kwon Do classes and the place was just across the water, near the bridge to access Mare Island.  Had a few classmates who were Sailors from the base and one Marine from Security Forces there.
