While the ships are identical performance wise, they are separate ships for purposes of camouflage, missions. and daily wins. The mission is compensation for players that acquire a the Black Edition Kaga by any means and already own the regular Kaga or get a regular Kaga afterwards. If you wanted another Kaga (perhaps for a different setup or you wanted to double up daily win bonuses on an IJN CV trainer with cash to spare) Kaga's $45 at the moment.
