Some are silly (that cap guy), some are themed (cartoon girls), some are event- or collection-oriented ("World Champions" or "Go Navy"), and some are commemorative. It is a few of these last types I've spent my Friday night working with. Now (2020-12-04), I have 159 ships in port: 48 premiums 1 special 88 tech tree 22 primaries (tech tree w/ perma camo) I just finished this Pearl Harbor mission set for signals and a commemorative flag. The signals all file away nicely awaiting future use during some crunch-time play to achieve some ultimately meaningless quest. So I'm looking at the flag and I thought, "maybe I should put it on any boats I have that were involved in the attack on Pearl Harbor." Brilliant... I know.... Then I notice that I already have the flag, but rather than being in the "Special" flags it's up in the "Commemorative" flag section - a blue-and-white 75th anniversary flag from 2016. "Well, let's use that one instead," I thought. And so began my Friday afternoon/evening quest to find boats that were involved in events I have flags commemorating. Now some ships were involved in multiple flag-commemorating events, so I decided to use the first flag, chronologically-speaking. For example, Yamato was at the Battle of Midway and present at the Battle of the Philippine Sea. Both events are commemorated with flags WG has distributed. In this case I flagged Yamato with the Midway flag. The Battle of Jutland and Scapa Flow event was a little tricky since there are recognized German and British battleship names, but some of them were the predecessors of the ones in our game, so extra care was taken to flag the correct ships. There may be more that I haven't garnered in my years of playing, but these are the battle-commemorative flags I have and ships I've flagged: Jutland (1916)Iron Duke, Warspite (also Bellerophone and Orion - but I only keep Tier 5 and up tech tree boats), Konig (also Nassau and Kaiser) Scapa Flow (1919)Bayern (Konig - flagged earlier, also Dresden, Emden, and Karlsruhe) Dunkirk (1940)Icarus (blue)(also Wakeful), Blyskawica (white - but couldn't flag because can use only 1, so I use Military Contributor) Pearl Harbor (1941) Farragut, New Orleans, Helena, Oklahoma Midway (1942) Normandy (1944) Philippine Sea (1944) Leyte Gulf (1944) (this one is a range of battles from 23-26OCT1944) Where's the ships from Midway onwards?! I'm not doing ALL your work! You get out your own man-dolls (boats), fire up your browser, and do the work. Happy flagging. (now if I could only sell those worthless Azure Lane Region flags....)
