Part III is up.

This part covers the salvage of Shaw - yes, the little DD that blew up so spectacularly lived again - Oklahoma, and the attempted salvage of Utah.

Thanks for the point out!

Once read a book about this effort, so hearing Drach's take is kind of like an audio book!

You probably read Descent into Darkness.  Drach recommends it and likely drew heavily from it.  It's on my reading list.

Seems familiar.

Drach talking about explosions from the rotting crud in the ships reminded me of the book.

I think that book is also part of why I wanted Oklahoma. (Bad or not.)

Kind of like Arizona; it’s a way for a ship that was never given a chance to do so by proxy.

I had forgotten that Utah, like Arizona, is still in place and also designated a war grave. All the lost sailors, R.I.P.

@iDuckman

I worked on a clearinghouse that used some old modem banks back in the 90's.  We didn't use Kermit for our stuff but, IIRC, we sometimes had to drop back to it for one reason or another.  I think it was popular in the 70's and 80's.

Thanks, I watched with great interest the series.

Heh.  I guess General Kenobi doesn't want his thread polluted. I used Kermit in the early 80s when I was running a Fido BBS.  What can I say?  a) It worked, b) I'm old.

LoL.  I looked at your avatar with barely focused eyes and saw a tom turkey on a black shield.  When do the flashbacks start?
