Due to the installation of the Update, the server will be unavailable from: Wed. Dec. 02 2:00 AM PT until: Wed. Dec. 02 5:00 AM PT Update size: 3,1 GB 0.9.11 AMERICAN BATTLESHIPS American battleships VIII Kansas, IX Minnesota, and X Vermont will become available for all players to research. Features of the Branch Numerous main battery guns with a solid salvo weight and firing range, which come at the expense of longer gun reloading times. Great maneuverability for battleships and effective anti-torpedo protection, but rather a low speed. Decent AA defenses that can be reinforced with the Defensive AA Fire consumable. WINTER TROPHIES Update 0.9.11 brings you the first batch of gifts and festive New Year activities. Free random bundles in the Armory The bundles are available between December 4–22, 10:00 UTC You can obtain only one bundle per day. A total of 12 bundles will be available, so you can skip up to 6 days and still be able to collect all the rewards. We'll give you some indicators to jog your memory about claiming your rewards by highlighting the Armory banner with a color, as well as attaching a special icon and text notification to it. NEW YEAR GIFTS New Year Gifts Gear up for the time of gifts in World of Warships! From December 4, bundles that include three types of Santa's containers are scheduled to become available. Exchanging doubloons for them in the Armory is one of several ways in which they can be obtained. Combat Mission Groups: Winter Trophies The new game event tasks you with completing 21 missions spread across three combat mission groups. The first group will become available with the release of Update 0.9.11, while those that follow will be unlocked on a weekly basis. More details about the completion criteria for the missions are available in the game client. Advent Calendar The Advent Calendar festivities kick off on December 1 and run until December 31. Open cards, get rewards, and complete missions to get even more rewards! More details about the Advent Calendar will follow in a dedicated article. <<<Here Battle Performance Bonuses An alternative option is opening up for you to get Research Points for resetting ship branches, as well as temporary victory bonuses. "Victory Bonuses" have been replaced with "Battle Performance Bonuses" across all descriptions in the game client. BRAWLS Due to technical issues the Ranked Battles system update has been delayed to a later update. Update 0.9.11 ushers in Clan Brawls 12 and 13. Brawls are now open to all players, even if a player isn't currently in a Clan. To participate, apply via the Create Division menu near the "Battle!" button, then wait for an invitation to join a Division. Only the Commander who creates a Division for a Brawl is required to be part of a Clan; the other two invitees do not have to belong to any Clan at all. BRAWL 12 Spoiler Starts: Wed. After that, American Tokens and Battle Points will be converted into credits at the rates of 1:1,000 and 1:75, respectively. The possibility to make these exchanges will be available until: Wed. Dec. 02 2:00 AM PT / your local time: Wed. Dec. 02 4:00 AM The following ships will become available with the release of the Update: IX Z-44, a Type 1936B destroyer, armed with two quintuple-tube torpedo launchers that reload their long-range torpedoes quickly. The ship excels at conducting torpedo attacks from a distance. Unlike the researchable German destroyers, Z-44 doesn't have access to the Hydroacoustic Search consumable. The ship is available for 228,000 Coal, as well as in bundles that are available in exchange for doubloons. X Plymouth, based on one of the draft designs that preceded the creation of the Edinburgh-class cruisers. The ship's distinctive features include sixteen 152 mm guns placed in four turrets. Like the researchable British light cruisers, she carries AP shells only. The ship is equipped with the Surveillance Radar, Smoke Generator, and Hydroacoustic Search consumables, but has a short firing range and weak armor. You can get her in exchange for 27,000 Steel. IX Neustrashimy, the first Soviet destroyer that was designed and built after World War II. She boasts one of the best concealment values at her tier, coupled with effective torpedo armament and a large HP pool. The destroyer has access to a wide range of consumables, including Specialized Repair Teams and Defensive AA Fire. You can get her in exchange for 296,000 Coal. VII Flint, an American cruiser with powerful artillery, good AA defenses, and high maneuverability. Twelve dual-purpose 127 mm guns with a high rate of fire that fire shells along arcing trajectories. Take shelter behind an island, then rain a barrage of shells down upon your enemies. Flint boasts decent torpedo armament and a favorable set of consumables: Smoke Generator with a long smoke dispersion time, Hydroacoustic Search, or Defensive AA Fire in one slot. You can get the ship for 168,000 Coal. VII Flint and IX Neustrashimy were previously available for Steel—a valuable resource that's primarily earned in competitive game modes. We wouldn't like to diminish the value of those ships for their owners, which is why their prices are higher than the prices of other same-tier ships in Coal. VII Duke of York is a renowned British battleship that played a crucial role in the sinking of the no-less-famous German warship, Scharnhorst. Duke of York carries HE shells that are notable for delivering increased damage and having higher armor-penetration capabilities. They can deal consistent damage to enemy battleships and cruisers, even at long ranges where AP rounds are less efficient. To successfully counter destroyers, Duke of York has access to Hydroacoustic Search—a rare consumable for this ship type. You can get the ship in exchange for 101,000 Coal. VII Lazo, a Soviet Project 68 light cruiser, has large dimensions and carries a formidable main battery of twelve 152 mm guns. She's well suited to long-range engagements. She excels at exchanging fire over a distance of 20 km due to the trademark features of the Soviet artillery and the specific parameters of her Spotting Aircraft consumable. You can get her in exchange for 83,000 Coal. V Hill is an American destroyer flotilla leader that was designed at the end of World War I. Her guns can be aimed quickly and she has comfortable torpedo launching angles, as well as decent AA defenses for her ship type and tier. You can get her for 38,000 Coal. We've added containers from the "German Navy" and "Shipbuilding" collections, with each container available for 1,000 Coal. This presents a good opportunity to complete the two collections if you haven't done so already. The reward for completing the sections and the entire "German Navy" collection is the ability to mount two flags and alternative camouflage patterns on German ships. The reward for completing the "Shipbuilding" collection is a Santa’s Big Gift container. In connection with the forthcoming update to Ranked Battles, we've made the following changes: The cost of permanent camouflage patterns for VII Flint, IX Black, X Stalingrad, X Bourgogne, and X Shikishima has been increased from three to 10 Ranked Tokens. The number of Ranked Tokens that each player has accrued has been increased fourfold. We've added the Predator permanent camouflage for X Somers, available for 10 Ranked Tokens. Starting from Update 0.10.1, the following ships will no longer be available: IX Georgia, IX Alaska, VIII Massachusetts, X Thunderer, and X Småland. Georgia, Alaska, and Massachusetts will no longer be available to purchase in the Premium Shop. The ships have been taken out of the game due to a combination of their popularity and combat efficiency. In order to maintain the proper level of diversity in teams in terms of the ships they are made up of, these ships will no longer be available to obtain for an indefinite period of time, but may return in future. We understand that accumulating resources for ships is a long process, which is why we wanted to warn you in advance, so that any interested players can still steer these ships into their Ports before Update 0.10.1 goes live in about 3 months' time. SINGLE GAME CLIENT In Update 0.9.9, we've made the transition to deploying a single game client. What are the benefits of the single game client? Players will be able to play on all main regional World of Warships servers (CIS, EU, NA, ASIA) without the need to install separate game instances for each region. The game server is automatically determined when you log in to your Wargaming.net Game Center account. By replacing four different clients with one, it will take less time to prepare and release future updates, and game content will be consistent across all regions. How to select the game server? Launch the Wargaming.net Game Center and click on the account icon in the upper-left corner. In the pop-up window that appears, sign in to your account or select the required account. The game server will be indicated next to your username. You'll still need a separate game client for Public Tests, Super Tests, and other test servers. To change from the live server to the test one, select the required client in the Game Instance menu. All details about the single game client are available in a dedicated article. CHANGES TO BANNERS IN PORT Spoiler The banners of the Armory and Premium Shop will now announce the arrival of new items, coupons, and temporary specials. We've added pop-up windows to the Dockyard banner to give players status reports on the current shipbuilding phase. GAME BALANCE CHANGES Spoiler In Update 0.9.11, we've made changes to the parameters of several ships based on our analysis of their combat efficiency and feedback from players. Such changes were required in order to carefully adjust the balance of selected warships. Further changes may follow in future updates, should they be required. Soviet Tier X destroyer Khabarovsk, and Japanese Tier X destroyer Harugumo Loss of HP after being hit by an AP or SAP shell with a caliber of 280 mm and above will now not exceed 10% of the maximum damage that such a shell can cause. British Tier VIII aircraft carrier Implacable Maximum bomb damage increased from 5,100 to 5,300 Chances of a bomb causing fire on target increased from 29% to 30% American Tier VIII battleship Kansas Sigma parameter increased from 1.5 to 1.6 Japanese Tier IX destroyer Kitakaze Detectability range by sea increased from 7.56 to 7.76 km. Other detectability values have been increased accordingly. CONTENT ADDITIONS AND CHANGES Spoiler The following ships have been added for testing by developers, supertesters, and community contributors: IV Dante Alighieri, V Conte di Cavour, IX Lepanto, IX Marco Polo, X Vampire II, and VIII Fen Yang. The Gothic permanent camouflage for VIII Bismarck is now available in exchange for 5,000 doubloons via the Exterior tab. The exterior setting of the Naval Base Port has been reverted back to its initial design. OTHER CHANGES AND IMPROVEMENTS Spoiler In January 2021, we're going to cease support for macOS. We've made this decision due to the low popularity of the operating system among our audience. Supporting macOS restrains our ability to improve the visuals of the game and its overall performance. More details are available from Player Support. We've added sound effects for some animations in the Port for the following themed permanent camouflages from the Transformers universe: Freedom Fighter for X Montana, Gold Bug for X Gearing, Messenger of Oblivion for X Großer Kurfürst, and Crush ’n’ Destroy for X Khabarovsk. Added an option to disable screen shaking from incoming damage and when using Engine Boost for squadrons with a new "Camera feedback when damage is taken" setting in the Controls tab. The Key Battle ships have been removed from player accounts. Any XP earned playing those ships has been transferred to I Erie. We've removed the option to set an Autopilot course by clicking a square on the Minimap. Removed Naval Legends audio files from the res/userMusiс folder. You can listen to all of our podcasts here. When previewing camouflage patterns in the Armory, a block will be displayed with the ship's tech specs adjusted for the effects and bonuses of the camouflage being previewed. Added an option to launch replays without pop-up notifications about opening files of such a format in Windows. Fixed an issue that caused the Main Battery Reload Booster consumable to work incorrectly. Fixed an issue that, when locking onto a target with main battery guns, set an incorrect angle for the torpedo launchers. As a result, torpedoes could be sent in the wrong direction or the launchers could malfunction entirely. Fixed an issue that caused the game client to crash after navigating to the Dockyard but before the ship being built had appeared in it. Fixed an issue that caused aerial torpedoes to arm at incorrect distances from the target. Fixed an issue that caused the game client to freeze on the login screen. Fixed an issue that disabled the display of certain indicators (distance to aiming point, detectability, and shell flight time) for aircraft in battle with the alternative battle interface mode enabled. Fixed an issue that caused Andrew Cunningham's "Lightning Fast" talent to provide an incorrect bonus to the speed of aircraft. Fixed an issue that caused a screenshot from the previous battle to pop up before displaying the battle results. Other improvements and changes. The full list is available from Player Support. Attentive readers can expect a reward! All you need to do is click the "Get Reward" button, and 1 day of Premium Account will be yours! Please note: your day of Premium Account starts immediately after clicking the button, so make sure to dive straight into the game and make best use of it. News article when those go live? I saw in the vid Flint and Neustrashimy made the container ships list. TL;DR: 1. 33 ships confirmed from the video 2. Plus I predict the 58 ships not confirmed but on the 2019 drop list will carry over. 3. Plus I predict 16 of the 19 Tier V+ premiums released this year will be added, leaving off Odin and Anchorage as former dockyard ships and Oklahoma as a current collection reward. 4. Gives a total of 107, which is the number released for the drop pool. From the video, it looks like the partial list of 33 ships below (They didn't expand it to see the whole thing). 122 [TF-62] Quincy71_GWP Members 151 posts 34,220 battles Report post #6 Posted December 1, 2020 (edited) WARNING! DO NOT BUY FLINT TOMORROW! Look at the irrational untested commander skill reboot being shoved down our throats in Jan. These ships REQUIRE BFT and AFT to be viable. They are eliminating these skills. These ships will be completely unplayable with a max range of 11.1. You cannot even engage a secondary BB that they are planning on buffing secondary range. Also DO NOT BUY ATLANTA or ATLANTA BLACK for the same reasons. These are very poorly thought out changes and will further erode the viability of so many premium ($) ships. Interesting that they are dumping these ships back into the game or introducing one (Atlanta B) just before converting them to virtual reefs. You're running 0.9.11 but connecting to an 0.9.10 server, so it acts exactly like 0.9.10. When WG flips the switch tomorrow to update the servers, you should just be able to connect with the same client and have it behave like 0.9.11.

0 Captain_Burkhardt Members 6 posts 10,206 battles Report post #15 Posted December 1, 2020 Not sure if this is the right place to post this but... would Wargaming consider ever consider moving the HMS Hood from tier 7 to tier 6? It's not really even a BB but a Battlecruiser and was built in 1920 whereas many of its tier 7 opponents like the Dunkerque was built in 1937 and the KGV was built in 1940. Several tier 6 BB's like USS WV were built in 1923 while the USS New Mexico was built two years earlier in 1918 but benefitted from many upgrades. Many similar upgrades were planned for the Hood but she was sunk before they could be implemented. As a Premium ship the Hood may be better placed one tier lower. Any thoughts? Build year has little to do with the tier levels of a ship. It is based on how WG configured the model. Its been a while since I played the Hood, but WG probably figured she would be over powered in T6.

I got the hotlanta in a SC back in late july. I've only played it once lol.

The Flint will be available for 168,000 coal, but the Duke of York will be available for 67,000 coal less? Nobody is going to purchase this ship unless they have excess coal lying around and no other ships to spend it on.

They posted in the notes they didn't want people getting mad so they made the price in coal high in order not to diminish their previous value. That was talked about a lot when they first made the announcement months ago.

It is based on how WG configured the model. Its been a while since I played the Hood, but WG probably figured she would be over powered in T6. The 'justification' (excuse) for Hood at tier 7 when she first entered was her AA - the special consumable that buffed her AA rockets was devastating even to the then insane Saipan DB group. Which was just barely enough to warrant it. Since then - her special consumable has been removed, leaving her with a standard 50% that given the short range of her AA, and how easy it is to knock out large chunks of it - no longer makes that viable. Most of the tier 7 ships - like Nagato and Colorado that even in real life they knew very much outclassed Hoods defenses (why she was scheduled to have an overhaul that would change them but was then scrambled to hunt Bismarck - and we know how that ended), let alone absolutely no chance against tier 9 ships with her current parameters and all. She was shoe-horned in with a gimmick to the tier, the gimmick was removed, it's time to down tier the ship and just reimburse people the difference in dubloons. 6 hours ago, Hapa_Fodder said: British Tier VIII aircraft carrier Implacable Maximum bomb damage increased from 5,100 to 5,300 Chances of a bomb causing fire on target increased from 29% to 30% This change is so inconsequential and pointless why even make it? I'm not gonna repeat my whole spiel on this I wrote up when they were first posted up as in testing. 32 mm of pen, when a large number of BB's in it's MM - including tier 6 and 7 ships, have more than 32 mm of armour protecting the hittable center section of the ship. Inadequate stats in terms of speed and HP to properly survive AA especially against some of the higher tier ships namely cruisers, that it could more reliably damage - though again even some of them have enough armour to stop the bombs. Leaving DD's, that these bombs lack the accuracy to reliably hit and will land along their sides, and unlike USN that can miss by a good bit and still trigger a detonation, lacks the blast to even cause incapacitations on misses. 66 more damage on penetrating hits - because unless you give DD's a citadel again this is never going to score a citadel hit for full damage, is a joke as is, and does nothing when the bombs aren't penetrating in the first place. making the chances of fire closer to 1 in 3 starts one only works A: if the bombs actually hit a target, B: RNG is on your side and C: if the target decides to let them burn or has already used DCP - which is very rarely the case when a CV hits them more often you end up being the setup for someone else to do a bunch of fire or flooding damage. Make them the more historically accurate DB's, make them more accurate, and give them 500 lb bombs so they can actually deal with battleships or give them the HP or speed to actually get through heavier AA to be an anti-cruiser focus.
