Sir Sean Connery, the legendary Bond actor, passed  away last night. He was 90 years old.

According to his son he went peacefully in his sleep, after having been unwell for some time.

And 2020 claims another.

What a legend.  Shame he won't get the proper respects and funeral he normally would have in non-Covid times.

Still a damn good looking chap in his 90's too.  One of very few who could make most women swoon, regardless of his age.

@Hapa_Fodder

Is this something you can bring up to the decision makers at WG and make happen?  Thanks

He's made many movies, and these are my favorites:

Finding Forrester
The Hunt for Red October
The Man Who Would Be King
The Rock

I'm sure there'd be a lot of licensing issues to use his likeness, and they'd have to hire an impersonator to do the voice ...

It's been a sad few days here in the UK. We've lost a comedian who most outside of the UK probably wouldn't know called Bobby Ball, a former Welsh Rugby international in JJ Williams and 1966 Football World Cup winner in Norbert "Nobby" Stiles and then we wake to the news about Sir Sean.

RIP to them all. Each brought joy to millions both nationally and globally.

Can someone take 2020 back to the store and get a refund?  This year is clearly defective...

The REAL James Bond.

He was great in so many other movies as well. One of my favorites is "The Name of the Rose". Not that well known but, with Sir Sean acting, it was really pretty good.

He was kind of a Detective Priest it that, wasn’t he?

Everyone screaming HERESY! right and left, while he was trying to explain things logically.

Discharged from the Royal Navy, after 3 years of service, for ulcers. Auk! A Scootsman serving in the Queen's Royal Navy for three years, keeping his jib shut? No wonder the wee laddie had ulcers!

Damn man.  I grew up to watching this guy's movies.  So passes another Hollywood Legend.  Ever since his last big role movie, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen of 2003 and backed out of the Hollywood limelight, he had been very low key.

Based upon the work of author Ellis Peters, as I recall.
