So, if subs are really coming, how about a new game mode?

I'm new to the game and I came from WOT, so I had a good idea of what it was. I've never played a sub before this ongoing test. It is nice but a bit boring and subs weren't made to be used like that. They are a wolfpack praying on large convoys. So, how about a game mode like that? You could play destroyers and cruisers and your objective would be to scort the convoy out of danger. I think it would be much more interesting.

I'd love it if they made a convoy escort game mode with less arcadeish subs. It would also open the door to destroyer escorts being added as well since they wouldn't fit in randoms either. But WG feels that things have to be in all game modes or it's a failure.

Players have been asking for new operations for years.  So far the only response has been soon(tm).

So don't hold your breath (pun intended).

Yea the question of new or the mothballed scenarios coming back is asked on the official streams on a weekly basis. Every time the reply is that they will return in the future but it won't be any time soon as they're working on other things (including subs) which are of higher priority atm.

Usually WOWS has said that the missing scenarios seem to involve issues with the aircraft/CV AI due to the changed mechanics.

That would make for a nice operation. I think it is too early for them to figure out what modes they will be available in. They're still working on making them work at all.

No they won't do that for aircraft carriers so I say just thrown them straight into randoms, like they did rework.

Bring them in as OP as h*** and just dunk on the rest of the players.

 It's the W G way!

It will be fine!

Just Dodge!

Also worth of notice WG and their german bias. The germans are like fathers of modern sub warfare and in the game they have by far the worst sub. Just ludicrous.

Subs are like wolfpacks?? Really dude? What country are you from? Subs rarely group up and are designed to 'snipe' strategic targets... I'm new to this game as well but I think subs will be an awesome addition to the game. Cheers to our differences :)

Putting subs in their own mode would save the rest of the game (at least from this) and let subs be subs.

From a real world perspective, subs have always been a part of naval combat... Why would you try to ignore/segregate that?

I really wish we could get some new PVE scenarios, or improved ship training. I definitely support something like this. Like Silent Hunter lite or something.

You really going to go there again? Subs were never part of active surface battles in the time when guns mattered.. In a few instances, aircraft were, but that mostly proved that it was impossible to conduct surface combat  while under air attack. Subs did not operate with surface ships seeking surface combat. They might scout ahead away from the fleet but IRL they were too slow to stay with the fleet and would be subject to friendly fire kills when detected anywhere near an allied surface ship. An enemy periscope or sonar contact looks just like a friendly one. WG has to make huge reality changes to the subs to even try to shoehorn them into surface combat.

Can't use history to justify subs in the game. They had nukes at the time period where most T10s would have existed. Guided missiles too. Should WG include those items? It all comes down to the question does adding subs (in their WG fictional form) make the game better or more interesting for the majority of players?

Who cares this is not real life this is all fantasy and arcade, reality doesn't matter to WG,  and bringing that argument to this debate, well after all these years really lol

Because they don't fit in the context of the visual-range flank-speed gunbattles that are the entirety of WOWS.    Hell, CVs kinda don't but they're here to stay, why make the problem worse?

For everything submarines did in the WW1-WW2 era, they did not take direct part in the sorts of battles we're playing here.

It's a game at best arcade like nothing close to simulation

You know they didn't have instant repair buttons either

Or Turbo boost acceleration

 Or speedboat turning

Or boosted anti aircraft button

Or instant aircraft launches and recovery

Or weird specific Concealment at specific ranges

 Or instant torpedo reload

CV attacking during World War I

Russian battleships lines

 American alternate battleships

German CVs

All the paper ships wg put in here

I could keep going but I think you get the point

But I do find it humorous but but but it's not historical argument

Because everything doesnt have to be in one game mode.  With respect to the permanent game modes, WoWs could use more variety IMHO.

I can agree with that also
