So early today in an announcement in the beta forum Gunlion made this announcement 

Ahoy Captains!

 

As of now, information, video, and screenshots from the World of Warships Alpha test are now free to be shared and discussed with your fellow Closed Beta testers and with the general WoWS community. :honoring: 

So later today i will be uploading my sole game-play video from the CAT hope you enjoy i will either re-post here or on a new topic when it hits YouTube.

By the way, there's some Iowa footage on youtube which I just found. Looks to be a fairly old version of the game.

 

 

 

 

(This is not meant to hijack the thread, just putting it out there. And since this thread pertains to alpha footage, I thought I'd share it here.)

(This is not meant to hijack the thread, just putting it out there. And since this thread pertains to alpha footage, I thought I'd share it here.)

 

I'll share my first impressions of that footage...

1. it looks dark, very dark - the lighting has definitely changed for the better since then.

2. I don't like the artillery style aiming mode, but I'm definitely a fan of the dispersion circle being shown.

3. gun locking, why in the hell do we not have it now, if it was finished in early alpha?!

4. UI looks much more polished now than in this video, that's good.

5. I like the collision warning that detects allies, I'd like to see a system like that now - just a simple thing that detects if allies within an arbitrary range are getting closer to each other, but with the same bearing.

6. BUOYANCY BARS!  I love it, although, there aren't any torpedoes in that video, so I can't make out too much about precisely how it worked.

it doesn't allow you to lock specific turrets though, in the video this fellow locks only his rear turret.
