So I been playing CVs since before we were primarily just map controlling the planes like a table top. I feel like as a CV user the respect I get from some other captains is by far toxic as hell. Usually happens under one of the situations. Mind you at the start of every single game I ask everyone what area they plan on going because from there I usually scout my planes in the general area spot a list of ships and then keep most of on the offensive if I see a ship fighting one my friendly. Down below is where I tend to want to throw my keyboard.

A) Friendly solo runs away from team and expects cover fire when I also have to worry about my other group. (I'll always focus protecting group over a single unit. Only exception to this rule is if a DD is sneaking to their CV and I can draw away the planes so he can get a clean shot.)

B) Battleships or cruisers that feel the need to stay beside me as though I'm unable to move my ship. (I've lost more games this way because they won't go to objectives...)

C) Teammates who feel the need to sail towards me and lure the other ships to me...(I swear 9 out 10 times this the only method I've been sunked in a game.)

Most games I do fairly well, I'm not MVP but on adv I sink 2-3 ships and do a hellaton defending caps. It is a class I hate to love, but something about a CV I'm drawn to, but never get any love from it, just the hate.

If I don't get reported at least once per battle I feel I have not done my job. Then again I enjoy all ships from bb cv dd so on cv just one of those ships that keep me coming back to. Live for the pain I guess.

Welcome to the life of a support class...its herding cats out there in random battles.

Sometimes its just pure ignorance on the other players part.

Just today I was running from a collapsed flank in my Lexington...and my friendly ships kept shooting the Jervis and Kidd chasing me rather than the Florida...

...I had to ask for the Florida to be taken under fire.

Seriously, I can win a fight against 2 DDs...hard to win a fight against a BB when he is in range already...

I grew up playing NavyField - and while there was hate for CVs the amount of crying and whining about them in this game is miles ahead. Maybe it is just the newer generation of gamers (not talking age - I am talking the gaming mentality of the player base as a whole)? Or maybe it is because forums are more widely used compared to the time then. Seems like there is more toxicity these days. Remember though! There is N O T H I N G anyone can do about it. You can play CV all day long. You can win, suck, lose, do horribly, do the best ever and there is actually not a single thing anyone can do to change how YOU WANT to play the game - all they can do is cry and cry about it.

Dude, I would just be happy to have them shooting something.

Hmm... so I must ask, how'd you let two dds and a BB all get you in range at the same time?

I find target the red target you want them to hammer and pounding the F3 key until you get the "you are issuing too many commands" text will generally draw some attention.

Still, I am curious.

^This has to just been added into the game because I can't seem to get any of my teammates to use any commands. :/

this is why i think WG tends to "favor" the surface ship mafia (along with its sub-group the destroyer mafia) more than us carriers skippers.

I was holding the flank and making sure we lost it slowly (enemy lemming train)...

...but left too late to avoid the enemy division YOLOing up the center.

My fault on staying late...knew I could outrun the Florida if I killed the DDs and he was distracted...but he wasnt distracted enough.

We had already won the match so my death was immaterial.

It was just fascinating how my friendly Fuso had no clue that the Florida was the threat...not the Jervis and Kidd.

Oh my goodness I cant count the number of times I have experienced what you have pointed out.  :Smile_facepalm:  It is frustrating specially with  (C) but I also feel happy when it is done on the RED SIDE and I be pointed right to the CV :Smile_playing:.

I have communicated by team chat when C occurs. I simply say "Hey, if you won't go to them I'll bring them to you". This is especially true when they are near me but not firing, so as not to "give away their position". Soon enough yes, the reds show up. When I'm in a CV, most are secondary boosted, I just say "GG reds" and head towards them, just me, my cv and my planes.

Tell you what though -=- there's nothing better than actually being able to provide a team true support, you know the team that seems to know what they are doing? Yea, those games are so rare I just tend to enjoy every single moment, relish as they say.

No mustard though as it seems to break the spell.

Get a Graf Zeppelin, it usually cures that problem. They just end up feeding you kills.

Fun things Graf Zeppelin can and will do:

Be the first carrier to go on a capping spree

Kill other CV's in secondary duels. (been there a couple times)

You can kill steal from yourself. (dropped 3 torps on a 3/4 health Pensacola, the secondary's killed it before the torps hit)

Have games where your secondary's are more effective than the other 11 players on your team combined.

In all seriousness, you shouldn't go looking for secondary brawls with it as that will just get you killed, but they can be fun when they happen.

When that DD gets stuck surrounded by enemy AA boats and spams the F3.  What do you expect me to do?Cathead.jpg.52cfbfac20263c2be5d3624b56577331.jpg

Forgot when CV sucks so bad the teammates shoot at him. That is a lovely thing to do. Go play little planes some game else. Glad you feel toxicity from the player base. We dont want CV. Is not a CV game, and we dont care about WG pushing them down our throats.

................................YOU KNOW, IT HAS A NAME TO DO THINGS THE MAJORITY WANTS: Democracy. Or, "customer's always right".

Imagine carry a team over and over, yet you deal a good playing, instead exit the match, you give your best, and a CV shows up out of nothingtaking 2/3 of your HP.

Its a game, also is electicity wasted when you have parasite players, PC, time in our lives, etc.

like it or not surface ship or destroyer mafia man WG sunk too much time and money into carriers (more so into the rework which was a general failure i think they would have been better off sticking with RTS with some alterations if you ask me) so it is highly likely they will not remove carriers so easily or quickly...

also relax WG is giving you surface ship dudes more attention than us carrier skippers! every patch bulletin i read so far is about surface ships or adding of new ones! hence this supports my belief that a surface ship "mafia" (along with its sub-group the destroyer "mafia") exists in the game to influence WG's decisions.

Double-edged swords here, this is sometimes how we've won.

In the first scenario I once had a BB(division mate) & a cruiser stay close to my Hosho as we went to A on New Dawn. We ended up being followed by our Rhein who wasn't liking the BB's creeping up on him. The rest of our team collapsed save for a Wickes & a Guissano who promptly went afk next to an island for 5 minutes(he did choose a good hiding spot, and was a great help at the end, so he probably just had something to do). A Wyoming & Nassau killed the Wickes and were about to cap B, but the rest the team starts urging my escorts to get into the fight(so am I, I have my own plans...). So suddenly the enemy team encounters 2 full HP ships out of nowhere & get a Brown Alert. Not helped by my AP bombs. The 2 enemy CV's behind their runs, but while en route the Hermes's aircraft spot my Hosho cruising through his spawn. So he spends the next 5 minutes not attacking my teammates and trying in vain to kill my CV before I reach his location. Against a standard, steer-by-waypoints-and-let-the-fighters-do-their-thing player that might've worked, but not on me. Wyoming kills our cruiser, division mate Kaiser kills Wyoming, then kills Nassau. One of the CV's kills our Kaiser, but not before the enemy Hermes gets impaled by my Hosho's chrysanthemum ornament. The Guissano comes back in right before the Nassau dies, and sinks the enemy Hosho, assisted by our Rhein.

2nd scenario: I was once forced to do this in the Campbeltown, had another DD chasing me. The Rhein distracted him & then killed him with torpedoes. I went on to torpedo a Kawachi(then got rekt by said angry Kawachi). Our Rhein outran him & baited him into the guns of our Kawachi(bot). We won on points when the battle timer ran out.

Game title "World of WARSHIPS"-----> "you surface ship dudes", "surface ship "mafia" . Sigh.

Do know there is another option "World of warplanes" so those "surface" guys will not have the dare to bother you anymore. Might want to try that.

i have heard things about WoWp most of it was not good unfortunately. =(

also i looked at your record and you play a good amount of battleships, destroyers and cruisers primarily and only around 100+ odd matches in carriers.

me i play carriers primarily. i played cruisers for a while too but i realized too late they were not for me. battleships are too slow for my tastes. played some destroyers and instantly did not like using them one bit (maybe someone else knows how to use them a whole lot better but not me!).

Nah. I dont play BBs anymore. Being a slow magnet of fantasy fire dmg it outbounds the acceptable fiction i can tolerate in this arcade game. BTW, you can tell how BB people are camping way back due to that.
