  2. 2. Does something need to be done to fix it, or is it a problem that will go away once the game goes live on servers more powerful/better than those used for testing.

    • Nothing needs to be done to fix it. It is only an issue because the testing servers are weaker than the servers the full game will release on.
    • Something needs to be done to fix it. If it is an issue now, it will be an issue on the full released version.
    • I am not sure if it needs to be fixed.
    • Server desync is not a problem for me.

Do your shells visibly pass through ships? Do you have to aim ahead of the target? Do these problems affect you?

 

I'm just curious to find out how many people feel affected by server desync. This mostly pertains to having your shots visibly pass through the target and not get any hits/damage.

 

Also, how many of you feel that it will still be a problem at release, or that it will not be an issue since those servers will be better/stronger than the servers used for testing.

It's the entire reason why i can't hit things over 15km away. It's very aggravating to follow the shell and watch all of them go straight through the enemy ship.

I experience server De-sync really badly when I'm playing my CV, my torps will pass through ships so to counter this issue i have to aim an extra Kilometer or more to make sure the torpedoes are hitting the hit boxes of ships. The only other time I experience server De-sync is in my BB's when I'm trying to hit something at 15+ Km, honestly though in a BB you shouldn't be shooting that far anyways you won't hit anything.

This is also why you'll get citadel hits on random [edited]locations at long range, like on an anchor or the very tip of the ship's bow.

I voted for the fix, it's usually not a problem for me, but when I see it, it's usually in the evenings, late night for most of you.  I just assumed we were on a different smaller server set up until release, when it would be polished up.

i voted too, im not into beta but usually play using a friends account, and damn guys, its SO ANNOYING and frustrating when you follow that shells or torpedoes & they just pass-through ships, omfg... probably its not a serious issue but i dont want this on the released version.

Lol really you shouldn't be shooting from 15km in a BB?     I have to disagree with you on that one.   I commonly get good hits over 20km

So you're saying he should be shooting from a farther distance? Wouldn't make sense to get better hits farther away.

I don't know where he should be shooting from, but he said you shouldn't be shooting anything that far in a BB.   I do it all the time.    Yamato can reach 30km with modernizations and you can get good hits from that distance.   I just sunk a Des Moines tonight from 28km its not impossible and actually I think he was streaming live.     You just have to lead way ahead, look at your range indicator and hold alt to see how far out he is, I don't pay any attention to the lines on the gauge its all numbers.  If he is 28.7km from me I set my range to 28km and try to do a quick calculation in my head as to how far to lead him then just hold down the mouse key for ripple fire.    Then it is just a matter of hoping he doesn't decide to turn for about 15 seconds or slow down .      As long as your not detected , he will never even know you fired until the shell come in on him .

Here is a 29km hit on an Essex for 1 normal hit and 1 citadel hit.     I took 1/4 of his health away in one shot and he never even knew what hit him I didn't hit record until right after the shot was fired, but my guns were trained at 30km because he was heading away from me at an angel so I had to compensate for that by aiming further ahead of him and my shots landed right at my max range.

It seems to be really bad for me tonight. Any ship I see when zoomed is zipping across the screen to where I can never land any hits regardless of where I am or how far ahead.

I've noticed that when using BB's I usually, but not always have the make sure my shots appear to fall AHEAD of the target visually ( the way I see it on the screen).  I have a pretty decent internet connection and a so so ping on the WG server. In WOT I always did better when using the server based reticle. I'm wondering if our standard aiming system on here is server based? Not sure. Would like to know.

At any rate trying to make your shots fall ahead of a ship a bit ( not your leading) is a big problem as I see it.  The longer the range the more apparent the problem is.

De-sync is my single biggest issue with the game atm....<maybe also that IJN DDs get WORSE as you go into higher tiers!!! I mean really?> ...the desync is almost on every match I play...if it is as bad as it is now when the game goes live I will not be playing it

Getting horrible desync, had none till the latest patch and after 1600 games.  Totally unplayable at the moement until it's fixed.

I started getting horrendous desync a few patches before OBT started, the problem has been occurring ever since and feels like it is getting worse. I basically cannot play the game in a competitive sense right now at all and have decided to just wait a few months and pray for a fix/patch. This problem is making this game unplayable for me and it is brutally unfair on players who experience this.

I have tried everything in my power to fix this to no avail so I am stuck waiting here for something to happen.

Like everyone says it comes and goes, ship freezes in water, explosions happen ahead of the ship, and for the game to be out this long having this kind of problems is [edited].  

 

Perhaps the ENTIRE computer programming crews need to be FIRED.

 

I would fix it before I have to fix the company.
