My forum reputation is way higher then my post count.

Do you have that too?

(If not, do you feel you post too much and do you have problems  quitting?)

Waiting for the usual suspects:)

What is the reason that my reputation supersedes the post count?

Maybe I have less posts of poor quality?

Your rep goes up regardless of emoji chosen.

Pretty sure that's not the case. I don't think it goes down for any of them, but some don't increase it (boring, angry, confused, etc).

Yes it does. It is the reason I never downvote anyone as all it does is to increase their score... Seems a pointless thing IMHO.

I have noticed that if a thread is locked and deleted, you can lose whatever karma you happened to have gotten in that thread. This does not happen everytime though so I wonder if it has to be done manually.

No, my forum reputation is typically about 1/3 of my posts.

Mainly because - I suspect - I have refused to engage in mouth-frothing rage on the topics this forum gets bogged down in, like MM, CVs, fires etc, or when I do I don’t take the easy/popular positions.

Instead, I focus on writing guides, particularly for new players, which obviously get less rewarded via forum rep (but are hopefully far more useful for attracting and retaining players).

One tends to get reputation-enhancing reactions, both positive and negative, when one pots facts or opinions of value.  Folks who post a valuable review or analysis will get many positive reactions.  Posts that are just “I agree”, or a popcorn-munching emoji, will increase the poster’s content count but not their forum reputation.

Actually you are closer to 1/2 & you definitely do the "advice" route as opposed to the "drama" route...+1 :-)

You do realize that "negative" emojis also give you a reputation increase...right?

Yes they do...I didn't think so at 1st either but kept track after somebody mentioned it & discovered they do.

It sure does.  That's why people that say a lot of inflammatory junk or are ignorant to other players have crap loads of rep.  People are more likely to downvote a post than upvote.  Look at my rep.  I'm at about 50% of my posts.  That's because all of my posts are solid gold and of the utmost value.  If I started being a total jerk I'm sure it would skyrocket.

Back in 2015, you used to be able to lose rep on the forums :Smile_coin:

I know, I started on these forums with 10 negative rep.

My rep counter is going up and up, obviously because of my quality posts.

if we have positive rep, then we should also get negative rep, if not, like the EU Forum, no rep at all.

Another thing that is nice about the EU forum (zero rep) is that when a person uses an emoji, they are not anonymous, and we can see which user likes/dislikes/laughs at stuff. EU makes for a much healthier and less toxic environment. NA is far too poisonous with anon emojis.

That's odd, if someone gets a ton of boring emojis their post clearly isn't useful or interesting. Personally I liked it better when it was a simple thumbs up or down and you could lose reputation. It was still meaningless, but at least a good reputation meant more than you had just been around for a while. I mean even the useless karma system in game means more...

So I guess if I don't like a post the best thing is not to react at all. Though come to think of it, that's probably the best option anyway for most of the content here....

I was gonna say the same thing.
I'm struggling to find any entertainment or informative value from this thread.

Should we all strive to get Boring icons to pad our stats?

Why so serious?

Or are you just upset that your reputation is lower then your post count?
