It's 11:45 Central time.

[BANCV] TWA (defending champion) vs. [JUNK] Garbage Men.  BANCV immediately brings SIX Petropovolaffski.  JUNK is more sane.

Best of five.

MrConway, Flambass, and Statsbloke are doing the intermission coverage and commentary.

Flamu and KiririnIchiban are doing the game play-by-play.

10,000+ viewers just on the WoWS channel, plus those on the other streamers.

Game 1:  14 of 18 ships are Roosian.

JUNK takes it.

A Petrosomething rams a SalemSalem survives and heals right back up to 80%.

Shimakaze gets no respect from the commentators.  They keep mocking the choice, preferring Somers.

Game 2:  BANCV (TWA) punches back with a more sane lineup and takes it.  1-1

In the initial push, a ship clips an island (grounding) and delays cap coverage, costing JUNK the cap.

Kleber yolo rushes a full-strength Kremlin and is able to unload both racks into it, for a critical trade.

Game 3:  Carnage in the east.  A furball leaves two dead ships and a BANCV Kremlin with 1000HP.

JUNK rolls.  2-1

Game 4 on North map:  This is a must-win for BANCV.

Seven Petropumpers between the teams.  BANCV has not been doing well with DDs and brings only Smaland.  JUNK bring a Yamato, Smaland, and Somers.

8::00 gone and it's still 300:300.

After a slow start, BANCV steamrolls.  2-2 and on to Game 5.

MrConway thinks that EU should consider the NA practice of ship bans.  I agree.

Game 5 on Loop!  Winner claims the crown.  GAME BEGINS.

BANCV brings a heavy setup - no DD, four Petro, 2x Hindenburg.   JUNK with a balanced 2 DD comp.

BANCV pushes Petros into all three caps, which on Loop all have central islands, nullifying the DD initial advantage.

BANCV Nevsky HE farming JUNK Ohio.  JUNK DM exposes himself trying to cover A and goes down.  BANCV with a 300 point lead.

JUNK has equalized the initial HP gap.  BANCV Petro goes down.  JUNK takes B cap and is contesting the other two, setting themselves up for a win.

JUNK nearly ties, but loses a Petro and is about to lose B cap.  Their Yamato dies too.  Now Salem.

BANCV is going to win. To frost the cake, their Thunderer secures a Kraken!

It's over.

With this ^^, WG admits their practice of producing over capable high tier ships have created some unintended consequences.

  • Mainly lack of diverse game-play.

I also agree with Conway, I am also think the ship ban system doesn't go further that it needs to promote variety in matches (I recommend extending it).

I think they're starting to see the stale game play, OP/over capable ships create.

Lets see with action if this is the case.

Congratulations to TWA [BANCV] - repeat EU KotS champions!

JUNK second place, and ENUFF, third place, all advance to the WORLD FINALS.

Now Flamu is saying that the "new" Petro-heavy meta is swaying him toward ship bans.
