I think that if the new line gets DFAA and the other doesn't, it will just powercreep the existing line even further. If you have to give it to one line, give it to the fast battleship line. Higher continuous damage means you can't linger as long, and may well get off one less attack or be forced to attack one last time but with a less optimal spread, etc. That said, that def AA often invalidates one's heal by super charging the flak you might otherwise be able to heal tank is also an aspect that makes me like def AA when on the sea end.
