What CV Line is New Player Friendly?

Hey all,

In an attempt to raise my mediocre CV play (yes, I'm not much of a fan either), what line would be the best to re-grind as new/poor player friendly?

I've ground through all the carrier lines except German, so I'm just curious as to which one would be the most user-friendly to try and help out my play?

It does have that feel considering how good he/she is but for people that are new to the CV's my rating of easiest to learn to hardest is US, IJN because their DB's use the same methods as the US ones but are AP bombs, RN the carpet bombing does take some getting used to, and the hardest is the KMS line.

Edit: I changed my order swapping out the RN and IJN positions in a later response to Ace.

You mean the new CV player? or the new pew-pew player?

The most general purpose/accessible CV line is going to be the USN.  It has very capable penetration on the bombs and rockets, and the planes are generally tanky enough to live while maneuverable enough to work for less experienced folks.

This is my post regarding my CV teaching stream.  Feel free to pop on by and ask questions.  I do running commentary as I play to help narrate what/why I'm doing as I'm doing it, which can be helpful for feeling out CV decision making.

Probably USN or UK would be the most friendly to learn on and from.  The IJN and KM CV's are a bit more nuanced and use fragile planes, that can be lost very easily.

I'm solidly in the camp that UK is "easiest."  Doesn't have the alpha of the other lines AND the bombing is uniquely UK; but it gives people survivable planes and a peek at strategy.

Your overall CV stats are still purple, you must have degraded a lot. I will stay with the US being the easiest to go through again because of their Swiss Army knife abilities having a good tool to use on every ship type. I will also change my second because the RN CV's are also all around ships. The IJN starts with more specialized planes with their AP DB's and the KMS planes are all specialists.

Win rate may be purple, but PR is average at best:

Still dark green though which is really only bad in comparison to the other ship types.

the usa for what i see on battle are balanced cvs good damg and life bar.  or RN. ones.  in the royal you can use the torps bomber in good ways. like dive /move /attack / run. at cero point. like was the IJN beford the aim move nerf. and have huge Hp bar. the bad thing is no concealment at all.  a good pair of ship whit strong AA can kill all your squad. but if you want some ninja attack. try japan. go for concealment skill and upgrades. them you can get yout planes at 6km spot range.event whit the low Hp if you know how to approach any ship BB DD CA or even CVs. you can make a huge damg. torps are the key next is AP bombs and last but not minor rocket . . and last Geman cvs,.. i dont not recomed this line for new player. just skip this line and go for other options

This is true, but IMO, the tradeoff is the faster torps making the TBs more versatile.

I found the british line to be rather easy to understand and get used to. Between the rather quick aim line reduction for the torp planes and the carpet bombers, you definitely get to focus more on target acquisition and learning how best to engage certain ships with different weaponry.

Wargaming has stated in the Naval Academy that the USA's line is the best for newer players. They emphasize the use of the USS Langley as a training ship. I took their advice and I agree on both counts.

I suggest trying the Hosho or the Langley.  Both are Tier-4.

Each nation's CV line has some trends or emphasis' in their ordnance capabilities.
British tend to be good at hunting DD's, because both their bomber and their rocket squadrons are well suited to hitting small & maneuverable targets.
The US Navy CV's tend to be a "general purpose" type.  Each of their squadrons can do some damage to most targets, but no ordnance type is likely to hit citadels or have tremendous "alpha damage" (even among CV's, which have low alpha-strike damage output to begin with).
The Japanese tend to be good for hitting large ships with strong warheads, provided one can hit the targets.  The rocket planes are okay or *average* versus DD's, but the AP bombs tend to over-penetrate and the torpedoes tend to be dodged by maneuverable ships.
The German CV's tend to require specific types of aircraft versus specific targets and require well-planned approaches to targets and precise aim by the player.  Experienced CV players may enjoy the challenge, but new CV players should learn the basics elsewhere, first.

Edit:  While "Tiny Tim" rockets are available at Tier-8 and up in the USN CV's, the Tier-4 and Tier-6 CV's don't have them.  Personally, I'm reverting back to the HVAR rockets, because there are more rockets in a salvo, which offers more chances to hit a target.

If you decide to get a premium CV, I suggest Ark Royal as the most user-friendly CV and the best "bang-for-the-buck".  She's especially fun in Scenario Operations.

The U.S CVs are more forgiving but they nerf tiny tims :Smile_sceptic: You could also try IJN CVs but they are harder to use :Smile_hiding:As for RN CVs to much rng involved  :fish_palm:

Found one in Algonquin Park in a swamp in '67. Bogged down so bad it was almost covered but still well preserved at the time. Canadian Army used to do manuvers in the park all the time, on foot mostly This guy went up a dead-end trail and went strait into the mud. Probably in the dark according to our platoon leader.

HOSHO.

I'm a novice with a few carriers from each line at various tiers. I find the Japanese behave most closely with my expectations.

The US are a very close second.

I don't like the Brit carrier much.

The German's are bizarre with whack recticles.

If this was a test of reading comprehension most on this 1st page failed miserably by falling for your "new/poor player friendly" claim.

If you've ground through all the carrier lines except German (no matter what you stats or PR) you know exactly how all the others play so your only unknown is the German CV line.

Posting purple WR & dark green PR stats...

& classifying them as "mediocre"/"poor" in your OP just sounds like a trollish jab at the majority of the player base...especially as your only response in 4 hours to more than 20 replies is to further classify your stats as "junk" & post your unicum stats.
