As far as I know there is no way to make something go away once started so the only "solution" is to just ignore it. You don't have to keep anything you get and can delete it if you wish.

There is no collection, so you don’t have to worry about that. Otherwise, sell all the temporary camos, dismiss any commanders, and just pretend any permanent camos and patches you’ve received don’t exist.

But the best way is to not accept the tokens and not spend them in the first place.

Take the free tokens, let them sit, when the event's over, they'll probably turn into credits when the event ends as usual.

I would hang on to any of the commanders you happen to get for free. With the skill rework on the horizon, you may be able to dismiss them and farm some of their xp to apply to your other captains. 

Other than that, the event is totally ignorable. I am hoping for what SgtBeltFed said as I can use the credits.
