Yesterday's news said "last chance to obtain the Pomm & Loewen" that it won't be available after Sept 4... but it isn't 100% clear if that's just from the sale, or from the Armory too. No reply from @Hapa_Fodder yet for an official word on the thread about it... does anyone know for sure?

It's the discounted bundles going away.

If that's the case then why does it say "last chance" to obtain it then?

I was hoping to be able to get Pommern with coal, but I'm still a couple of months out before that can happen.  I can't pay that much real cash for it.  I'll be pretty bummed if I miss out on it.  :Smile_sad:

I hear ya. I'm holding out hope that Haze is right and they meant to only say it was the last chance to buy it. Though if that's the case, this definitely just becomes another very poorly worded official announcement from WG. They've happened before, but hopefully we have enough time to get the definitive official answer.

Because it's the last chance to get those discounted bundles.

Alaska, Agir, etc. and several other Armory ships have had special discount bundles when they first released, and went away after some time.  But the ships were still there for normal costs in Premium Shop & Armory resources.

Edit:  Here's an example for Alaska when she was new.  She had bundles on her release like the Admiral Pack in the link below.

https://worldofwarships.com/en/news/history/museum-alaska/

It was only on sale temporarily, but access to her via the Armory and regular Premium Shop never went away.

I'm pretty sure they mean the bundles from the premium shop for real money, not the armory.

Perhaps for the very reason that you are in here questioning it. Uncertainty that leads to someone getting it now. They have left out the word bundles in the main copy of the blurb when doing this several times. Z35 just recently.

To "motivate" people to spend money in the shop instead of coal in the armor, most likely.

I'd say it's just the bundles for cash/doubloons and not the ship only coal option. Besides we usually get a couple of updates notice if a coal ship is to be removed from the Armoury.

The Pommern will be unavailable in the Premium Shop after September 4. However, it is expected to remain in the Armory, obtainable for Coal, until further notice.

This is VERY normal for us, the bundles come out for a period of time, then they will go away and she will be sold on her own again.

Oh lord.  I have to look up Florida and see what damage has been done to her.

Edit:

I was right.  They're nerfing her some more.  Florida got "Californicated" by WG.

https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/64

VII Florida:

  • Amount of hit points reduced from 63 800 to 51 800;
  • Main battery guns reload time increased from 31.5 to 33.5 s;
  • Maximum HE shell damage lowered from 5 000 to 4 750;
  • Chance of HE shell causing fire lowered from 30% to 22%.

If that's how it is released, chances of me ever bothering to get the ship have dropped to less than zero.

  • Hyperbole
  • Historically poor choice of words.

I checked it out, too, which is surely what they intended.

Cheez!  Talk about a nerf bat!  I was actually considering buying, and I'm FTP.

It wasn't a nerf bat that hit Florida.

That nerf is a follow up to prior changes that had other nerfs as well.

https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/62

VII Florida:

  • Main battery guns reload time increased from 30 to 31.5 s;
  • Maximum AP shell damage lowered from 10 500 to 9 500;
  • Ballistics were changed: now HE and AP shells will lose speed faster and their flight trajectory became more arcing.

Couple those with the new nerfs:

Instead of fixing Cali, they just made Florida equally as worse.

So it is only the last chance to obtain the bundles for these ships, but not the last chance to obtain the Pommern, since it is available for coal. Is that right? If so, good.

As someone who's lived in FL for 2/3rds my life I was planning on getting her. Now... not so sure. :-/

That was my concern about FL from the moment people started comparing it to CA.

This company has had it in for USN ships since Alpha. The 5-inch guns are the biggest most telling example. Their rate of fire/range is NOWHERE-NEAR to accurate as it should be.

That's a lot.

It needed those nerfs to be honest.

12 guns at T7 are alot, even if they are only 356mm. You can dish out plenty of damage just be slinging AP into superstructures, especially if the shells travel slower and arc more.

Not to mention super cruiser accuracy on 12 guns, with the highest broadside alpha of any T7 BB. It's HP would've been on the high end. Pre nerf Florida had more HP than Colorado, Gneisenau, and Lyon, and would've been comparable to Nagato.

All while being better protected than most of its peers with the 37mm deck giving it resistance to equal tier non enhanced IFHE CL HE as well as non enhanced CA HE of all tiers. This is better than Colorado, Nagato, and even the fabled Sinop as Sinop's tankiness comes from it's bow plating, its deck is the standard 26mm. Sure, Florida has the 25mm extremities, but that's still enough to bounce 356mm and her peers' 26mm gets over matched anyways by bigger guns.

Post nerf Florida is still quite respectable. It's broadside alpha is still one of the highest at her tier, losing out only to Sinop. Her health is closer to her peers than Odin's was. Her reload is still slightly faster than California's, and remember that she has super cruiser accuracy. She's decently fast as well. I think her concealment should also be on the better end.

As for the HE nerfs, I feel like those were ok except for the fire chance. Doesn't really make sense that Alaska's 305s have better fire chance than Florida.

Florida is basically a T7 version of Bourgogne, trading reload for even more accuracy. I'm still quite excited about Florida. And remember, everyone was freaking out over how bad Odin was going to be, then it turned out to be nowhere near as bad as people made it out to be. Is it the best T8 BB? No, but it's fun and isn't the worst.

Is Florida going to be the best T7 BB? No, but I think it'll be quite fun. Honestly I feel you guys have your expectations skewed by the likes of Massachusetts, Alaska, Black, Somers, and Georgia that any new premium that's short of best in their tier is now viewed as "bad." Premiums shouldn't be stronger than tech tree ships. They should offer a fun, unique new play style, and Florida does that.
