As Flamu pointed out on his twitch stream, where is the Montana? It should be in the #1 spot.

I'm often skeptical of accusations of Russian bias, but this time..... :cap_wander:hmmmm:Smile_sceptic:

Well done video. I especially like the scale size as the comparisons went on. I didn't know the weight of shells coming out of our guns...staggering really. When manning a ship in map it really doesn't fully express the size of these beasts..I'm almost strictly a BB player. I find them to be the most fun and playable in game. DD's were just to hyper for me! Lol!

Sonosailor pointed out the more important factors:  hits and damage, not just weight spewed into the air.

Total [edited]! Kremlin and Grosser Kurfurst, are paper ships.  Yamato was real so it is the winner here.

WG: "There is no Russian Bias"

WG releases video conveniently leaving out paper US Navy ship so that Paper Russian ship has the highest weight broad side...

Not doing well in Russia or something WG ?........

At least it advanced far enough for a concept scale model to be built...

Montana_Class.png

...which museum or Russian Defense Ministry building is it where models of glorious proposed ships are on display?

I tend to do so.

In any case; the model was built, and the contracts let, though soon cancelled by changing priorities. Apparently the secondary guns were completed, and wound up being emplaced on Midways, and eventually two classes of JMSDF ‘destroyers.’

Hardly a ‘paper’ ship in the same sense as the vodka fantasies.

The keel to Montana was close to being laid. It was a cancellation. Congress did approve their construction.

The US Navy pulled the plug because of priorities. They can also be built in the slipways.

The Soviet Union had not the slipways to build anything at tier 6 and above. And even if a keel got laid down, it would get bombed by Germany if seen from the air.

If they snub the Montana, then it's only because of their home market. WG probably noticed a trend of fewer Kremlins in game.

It's akin to selling a boat. You are glad you sold it, and the buyer is glad he bought it. But then the buyer's remorse kicks in when you sail Kremlins wide and they give up citadels like a Pez dispenser.

Players adapt well. And despite the firepower. It's fictitious in nature. US Navy Super heavy shells, their propellant, fusing, explosive charge, barrel, and targeting systems are not.

What hurt BB development in the Soviet Union was Stalin and WW2.

I too wondered by thye skipped Montana which I use alot. My continuing complaint is that Montana's secondary guns are under rated. Should have greater ranger and damage capability. The 5" guns on USN destroyers pack a heavier punch and Montana's 5" guns were supposed be better than on the DDs. I don't think they want Montana to have the her true firepower.
