well, i guess I am guessing that a bunch of you would want the Georgios Averof right?

I am kind of guessing tier VI due to a number of reasons that you may guess, so i wont torture you with anything but,

the real question that I am suspecting you will answer

Do you want to have this ship in WoWs?

also what kind of specs should she be if she is coming? would like to know

thks ;)

Read a bit about her just now and tier 6 is NOT going to happen.  Even five minutes of cursory research shows she's a pre-WWI armored cruiser. Those tend to get slotted in at tiers 2 and 3.

She makes 23 knots. After her final refit, she had an armament of 2x2 234mm guns firing 3-4 rounds per minute (while the 234mm guns on the Georgios Averof were slightly different  than the mark 10 in the link, sources state they were similar in performance to the mk 10.) She also had a heavy secondary battery of 4x2 190mm and 8x1 76mm guns, and her three torpedo tubes were removed by that refit. She basically reminds me of a cruiser version of the Mikasa. I don't need to dig any further to know she's a tier 3 at most, maybe tier 2. Totally support her being included in the game as a tier 2/3 premium, but let's be realistic about her tier placement.

Well if there is one thing we know, historical ships stats don’t translate to in game because well, balans. That being said, I would be surprised if she wasn’t placed at least at tier V. With the amount of resources put into the video and history placing her below that where she is largely irrelevant to 99% of any missions or achievements for a ship most outside of the Mediterranean have prolly never heard of doesn’t seem to make sense.

There are easier ships to implement which have had naval legends videos, but which remain absent from the game. I wouldn't infer too much from the video.

As others have said, despite the significant history, Averof is unlikely to be an addition. She is slow, lacks AA and has a 4-gun main battery which is inadequate. She could come in as a low tier but WG haven't really released low tier premiums in some time. I suspect they're just less profitable.

On the grounds that I wouldn't play her much even if she were added, I can't say I'm enthusiastic.

Hey

I think she is more than likely a T3 cruiser, maybe shoe horned into T4 but I doubt it.  She also would have to be Pan-European for captains sake.  I doubt if anything will come of it personally, it's not where the money is for Wargaming.

I'd love to see her join the game since they covered the ship on the YT channel. Since it's a battlecruiser, you'd at least place it T3-4, and considering it was the most powerful ship in the Mediterranean for some time, along with the good armament, should give it T5 status imo. Maybe add her CO as the captain as well. Totally would grind for.

If they put Averoff at tier 5, it would be the worst tier 5 in the game, full stop, at least without a bunch of pie-in-the-sky, completely ahistorical massaging of its stats or a tremendous amount of gimmickery. Hey, not like either of those things would be unprecedented.

Really, it's a tier 3 at best, though with the potential to be an interesting one.

Consider the tiering to work such that, in general, each tier is roughly confined to ships built during specific periods of time. Tier 2 is Pre-1900 to early 1900s, the pre-Dreadnought era. Tier 3 is late 1900s into the early 19-teens, the advent of Dreadnoughts and the massive shift in naval thinking that surrounded them. Tier 4 is mid-teens, early WW1.

Tier 5 is where it gets kinda wonky; you've got a conglomeration of ships from different time periods all thrown together here, some dating from the height of WW1 (and some of those refitted into inter-war or early WWII configurations, some not), some from the 20s and 30s, some even from the early 40s. It's a very odd mashup.

Tier 6 is mostly ships designed/built at the end of WW1 and on into the early 1920s, but generally the configurations reflect interwar refits. You get some treaty cruisers here, too.

Tier 7 is another odd mishmash tier, but is broadly broadly representative of the interwar/treaty period, the mid-20s through the mid-30s. This was a comparatively long era defined by the naval treaties that greatly slowed naval development for most of the interwar years and saw limitations imposed on new designs, necessitating the refitting and modernizing of WW1 leftovers. You also get a few early WW2 designs in here, like KGV and Scharnhorst, and even a couple late-war/post-war oddballs.

Tier 8 is late 30s into the early 1940s, the build-up to and commencement of WW2.

Tiers 9 and 10 represent the ultimate expressions of WW2 design philosophy, largely 'what ifs' that reflect the war continuing, with all the major combatants, through the late 40s and into the 50s, but also includes a few late-war/post-war designs that were actually built or intended to be built.

She's not a battlecruiser, she's an armored cruiser, which are the precursors to the battlecruisers. Calling her a baby pre-dreadnought wouldn't be inaccurate.

She's got a split caliber main battery typical of her time, which translates in game to two player controlled turrets and some large caliber secondary's. Kinda like Mikasa but worse.

Mikasa works because she's got a massive battery of small secondary guns, accuracy through volume.

Georgios Averof has 4 big secondary's per side, and a smattering of smaller guns, no volume. The closest ship in game to this is Kaga with her 200mm secondary's. Other than back in the day hitting the citadel of a Pensacola with one, Kaga's 5 gun 200mm battery really hasn't done anything, all the heavy lifting has been done with her 127mm guns.

If WG puts Borodino in game (she was modeled a few years back) then Georgios Averof might have a chance of showing up at the same tier (likely 2 or 3, depending on how that balance the secondary's.

As a museum ship WG could make a beautiful model of her, having good access to her would make it even easier. She also should be pretty well documented, making that task even easier.
