Thanks Zoup. Looks interesting. Destroyer is Zerstorer in German; probably the origin of the Z. The "T" in some is for torpedo boot.

Thank you for the review

Hard pass for me.  Not too interested in a DD that can't do many of the things a dd should do.  Spotting for one (if the whole job of this thing is to sit in smoke and hope that someone spots for you).  Does not sound like a great DD hunter either, even with German hydro.  I use to play my Bly like that during the days of OWSF, but at tier 8, with all the radar?  Just another Freisland at tier 8, but with short range torps - meh

If you mean Blys is a Friesland, at least Blys has torps. Such fun; trying to carry in a Friesland without torps.

Mind you, I like my Friesland; but I sure as heck miss having torps on occasion.

Soo... It is a Lightning that trades torpedo power for german hydro and faster gun reload. Sounds fun to me, though I don't know if the game needed another HE spammer.

Haven't seen it announced anywhere, where can you get it or how much do they want for this?

Considering that there are directive missions listed for this ship specifically, WG only lifts the embargo on test ships shortly before release, and the fact that California is set to leave the Premium Shop in a few hours... I’d expect to see her as the new featured ship in the shop tomorrow morning.

I'm not so sure I agree with AFT on this ship. Those guns ARE very floaty. Unless it's a BB coming straight at you, you have very little chance of hitting anything else beyond normal gun range.  Took me one battle to realize what a mistake it was to use AFT.

Well it is a DD so it doesn't ship as a "totally mediocre ship that doesn't quite balance out it's "just different" mechanic baked into it."

Thx Zoup, at least its outside radar range. I liked it.

Yes, outside radar range but for how long? Won’t take long for for folks to figure out where the Z35 is and that they just need to get a bit closer and...boom.

And you were right.

California, by the way, is still there ($49.39 CDN), but her bundles are not.

Honestly looks like a pretty boring ship so far unless there is at least 5.5km hydro.

This ship has much more than it lets on.  Perma smoke for the win.

So, basically a Smolensk with 7 charges for the smoke generator?

That's Flottenadmiral VON Smolensk to you, schweinehund! :Smile_veryhappy:

On a more serious note, the true German Smolensk (at least in gunnery terms) is probably the Mainz. This is more like a somewhat nerfed Akizuki.

Well, I guess it should be doable too.

Not right now, no. Maybe in the next patch.

Yes, I'm afraid that might involve waiting two more entire weeks.

This is bizarre analysis to me. Akizuki does this much better with usuable torps. Kiev has much better ballistics for this role. What am I missing?

It losses badly in spotting with british dds, meaning they get to choose when and here to fight you.

I don't disagree that this might be the best use for the ship,  I just question the notion that it's good.
