Just to provide some clarification to some players who maybe on this directive

One of mission as part of Directives 5 (Show the Flag) is/was:

From https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Ribbons

When can then see a module is any of the following:

From this:

  1. Shooting down Aircraft (Module 1.11) should could towards the directive - It doesn't count
  2. Damage to AA and secondary guns Module 1.7 and 1.8) should count - It doesn't count
  3. Damage to Hull, or destroyed Hull (Module 1.1) should count - It doesn't count

The only incapacitation ribbon I could get was, damage to engine, steering, torps and main guns.

I hope this helps those of you who want to complete this directive.

I would disagree, this is a case where language is important. All these modules you listed can be destroyed, but they can not be “incapacitated.” Incapacitations occur when modules are knocked out (rendered non-functional) but can be repaired with your DCP or over time if they are not destroyed in the interim. Thus, their destruction does not yield incapacitation ribbons and does not count towards the mission.

In the past there have been missions that AA guns and secondary guns counted towards, but they specified something along the lines of “destroy or incapacitate X number of modules.”

100% correct and if destroyed modules counted the mission target would be like 300 instead of 45 because HE spamming cruisers can do that in one T10 battle if they hit the right areas.

They used to have those missions (didn't include the word ribbon).  HE cruisers and RN BBs were the rage.

If your car breaks down and stops working, it is incapacitated.  That doesn't also mean that your car is destroyed.

It's still pretty easy to farm incapacitations with HE cruisers or battleships. One Smolensk salvo on a destroyer will often do two or three incapacitations, because you can get credit for multiple main guns, multiple torpedo tubes, rudder, and engines. You can do the same to cruisers as well, giving you more targets to farm but fewer at-bats to do it in with the RN battleships.

On that same wiki page, further down, it has this graph that shows which of those listed modules can get incapacitated (damaged/disabled).   Maybe the wiki could switch "critically damaged or disable" to "incapacitated" to better reflect the game terminology.:cap_hmm:
