Wargaming how about putting on the german uboat sub captains the white floppy captains hat, that would be cool.  Or on German Uboat premiums instead of that junior rank cap.

thank you.

Yes, UBoat captains wore a white cap to distinguish themselves at night on the bridge .  They were the only crewmember with a white cap.

Don't commanders uniforms and caps change as they rank up? I would assume this would eventually include the above captain's cap for Unterseeboot commanders. :cap_yes:

Fun fact. The "floppy" cap is actually the same regulation cover worn by regular officers. It was a fairly common practice among submariners, higher ranking armor officers, and pilots of many nations. The stiffener ring/band was removed to make it less likely to get knocked off in cramped spaces or to allow wearing a headset over the cover.

This was also done by US AAF and the shaping under the headsets was accelerated.  I believe they were called 20 mission hats. This was not regulation, and was an affectation to separate the veterans from the noobs.

RAF fighter pilots often left the top button of their jackets (or whatever it's official name was) undone.

The US Navy had blue officer hats and then standardized on white sometime before or during WW2.
