Yeah...it's very very pro-American.  That's not always a bad thing...but I expected something a little more...well...tactical like Nat Geo's Generals At War .

As an American I wish more shows were, eh, showed both sides. I loved the show Dogfights but very rarely did it show other sides. It showed the Bismarck and the Luftwaffe's Deadliest Missions But besides that it was all American pilots do this, that, and save the world. Kinda boring. We weren't the only freaking air force. What about the Ace of Aces Erich Hartmann? Nah we want to see someone from out country who had 50 kills instead of the 354 Erich had.

I recall Season 2 of Dogfights talked about other aviators...like the legendary Red Baron .  That being said, I prefer watching these shows for tactics and strategy...

The best thing about that show is the recounting of the many humorous incidents that happen in wartime.    For instance, someone dropped a mop overboard and the entire fleet shot at it and dropped depth charges because they thought it was a periscope.

When History Channel wasn't praising 'murica, it was drooling over how awesome Germany's military was. Nothing for Soviets cuz commies and Brits cuz tea sippers.

Exactly. And its my opinion Germany was only praised because otherwise how come the 'Merican Army did not win the day they arrived? Nah they needed hardship. Now don't get me wrong- there was tons of hardship and sadness. But they really played up Germany and America. Montgomery beats Patton IMO. The Italians are ignored. Their generals, equipment and the like was pitiful. However, they still contributed significant amounts of forces. Huge amounts of Rommel's forces were Italian. Italians were at Stalingrad (admitadly they retreated).

 

And what about Canada/ANZAC? They are completely ignored. Britiain is portrayed as essentially hiding on their island (sorta true). And the French... yeah. The Soviets had no military according to history channel- everything they used was 'Merican. They died in droves to the superior Germans. Japan went from fearsome to worthless soldiers dying on isles all over between 1942-1943. Russia magically developed into a Superpower between nothingness in 1945 to Uber level in 1948- but they could NEVER challenge America.

 

However, do not forget, all this was controlled and started by Ancient Aliens. The Mayan Pyramids were landing towers.

 

Phew. Yeah I got disapointed in history channel. Thats why I stopped watching. I am an American of German Descent. Both my parents are die hard conservatives (I am independent). But really, they NEED to show both sides. Hitler was evil, but he revitalized the economy. Churchill and Patton were awesome, but they were both rascists and Patton wanted to continue the use of the camps. Whitewashed history leads to idiocy, and America does not need this.

 

Wow I typed a hell of alot. Just all came flowing out.
