2 DavidFilmer Members 5 posts 1,224 battles Report post #1 Posted June 29, 2020 Sometimes I'm slugging it out and, holy crap, suddenly I get a hit that does MASSIVE damage. I'm thinking maybe my magazine detonated. But, at the score screen, I don't see any mention of anything like that. It looks like an ordinary damage report. Is there a way to tell how often/how much of my own damage is from my magazine cooking off (or other events such as hits to my citadel)? Or even if these events occurred? And, on a very related topic, I get "set on fire" ribbons or "hits to citadel" or "caused flooding" ribbons, but I have never received a "you detonated his magazine" type ribbon. But there have been games where I'm pretty sure that's what I did (a single hit sank a fairly healthy ship). Does the game acknowledge opponent magazine detonations? My question is influenced by my opinion that a magazine detonation is the worst single event that can happen to a warship. I'm pretty sure nothing tops that. Thanks! The game automatically stores the previous 30 matches in the replay folder in the game directory. Just drag the replay onto the game exe and it will play. You might want to google all the controls so you can speed it up slow it down, etc. Edited June 29, 2020 by RipNuN2

Detonations have their own icon in the kill list that shows up. That said, I do wish the game had a live damage meter (including bounced shots), like Tanks already has. The mod does *some* of this, but it would be nice to have an indicator of bounces as well. Edited June 29, 2020 by leops_1984

In game or after the match is over ?? In game, you'll need Aslain's game mod, DL and install Damage meter mod After the match, the detailed report gives you the information if all that occurred in the match. There is a setting in the graphic-audio-control that with give you an active potential damage counter, along with spotting damage and AAA damage.

In Random battles, a message will appear in the chat box saying that a player earned the Detonation achievement. A kill icon (and a special badge if you were detonated) is also shown briefly above the mini-map. In Co-op battles, achievements are not awarded. Only the kill icon is shown. It does, you can get info on how much potential damage you have bounced/dodged, how much spooting damage you do, and damage to aircrafr. Have to enable ot on the settings somewhere though, been a while since i did it, so a bit fuzzy on exactly how
18,429 [WOLF5] HazeGrayUnderway Members 40,037 posts 31,818 battles Report post #12 Posted June 29, 2020 Check replays to see events unfolding leading into your defeat / destruction. During the match you may miss critical details that led to your downfall. If you really care about fixing your mistakes, decision-making in matches, replays are a good way to see what you did right and wrong, but just as importantly, what other players were doing that put themselves in position to punish you. It's very easy to just pay attention to the guys right in front of your group, trading shots with you. IMO, it's the guys off to the side that sneaked around there, or you just completely failed to notice, are the ones that smash you. Just because some enemy player is off to the side at 18km doesn't mean he's no threat. If he's a Battleship, he has the power to land deadly salvos that make you wonder what the hell just happened. During my long quest to go from 1200 Random Battles and a 43-45% WR, watching replays after I got beaten and had zero idea what just happened was an illuminating experience. An offshoot to that practice was watching the rest of a game after getting sunk. Pay attention to match situations, think what you'd do in that same situation, and watch what people do. Learn from their successes and mistakes.

That damage meter tells you the type of vehicle that fired at you, if the shot penetrated or was blocked, and even what type of ammo was fired at you. Even the damage meter from Aslain's only tells you the amount of damage and the type of ship that inflicted it. The damage indicator in Warships is, at best, an indicator of how much gunfire has been thrown at you, but unless you know the damage values of every ship in the game it's not particularly useful. Yamato 14652 (+4884) I've been wondering that myself, then I found a site that seems to show the values are TOTAL DAMAGE (LAST DAMAGE). If that is accurate than that would show translate to 4884 damage done the last hit for a total of 14652 with that named ship. Abbye

From a game and "gut feelings" from what you experienced in a match, may not line up with what happened. Sometimes you think this one player did the most damage to you, but the reality may be something else entirely jacked you up. I remember seeing that stuff in post battle result screens, being surprised by it, and then watching the replay to see how things unfolded without me noticing it at the time.
