Those overpens against the cruiser are brutal. Not much angling, right on citadel area in the middle of the ship and you get that as a reward?

And that torp comb was pure accident on my part.  I had to get those torps off and new I had limited time...so that hard turn to port was to open my torp arcs....and that just happened to combe the torps as well.

The Hiei captain came up in chat latter and said that entire engagement was fun.  I gave him plus karma for that one...a very good sport even after catching those torps.

Nice, no need shooting the BB after the torps where in the water, you should have engaged the DD.

Agree.  But in the moment, I was task saturated and in tunnel vision (pun intended). Didn't even see the DD until after the BB was taken out.  To give a bit on my psyche at the time:

The BB had been tanking in position for quite some time.  In fact, I even popped off three* torps in the gap (prior to the video beginning) on the off chance he would push through.  We had just cleared the cap and I decided to make a run on the BB using the terrain for cover/surprise.  Basically,  pop out and surprise torp before he could zap me.

As I made the run, the CA closing from the mid cap became an issue, as he could spot me and my surprise move would be revealed.  I was hoping to keep cover on terrain, and get the BB around the corner.  But the BB had pushed up, and we spotted each other in the gap...at that point my gig was up.  I targeted the BB for a torp lead, and noticed he was slowing down and would use terrrain for cover.  So not only was the gig up, but he now knows exactly what I'm doing and he has the punch to one salvo delete me as I emerge from cover.

I had to choose to go left or right, and decided left was best...hoping to get my torps off before he blaped me.  In the meantime, target the CA.

I play a lot more Exeter than I do Devonshire and my psyche was in three torp vs four torp mode.  When I popped the three down the center (before the video), I was operating using my Exeter three torp tap.  I had thought they were reloaded, but there was actually only one in the tube.  This didn't sink in until I shot it at the CA, and only one came out.  Oh well...one more main gun shot and gotta turn for the BB.  My psyche at this moment was to get the torps off and then get the guns back on the CA.

When I put the torp marker on the BB, I noticed he was backing up now, forcing me to wait a bit longer to fire, and cutting it pretty thin next to the terrain...balancing the lead to avoid the terrain, but not lag so much I missed.  I wasn't sure how many were going to hit versus catch the terrain.  At this moment, my one torp fired at the CA eliminated my need to bring the guns back to bear on him.  And thinking some torps might not make it to the BB, and the need to finish him before he got a kill shot on me (next salvo, I'm done), I decided to add whatever HP reduction I could via main battery.

That was all going on in my head above, and it was full task saturation.  The DD showed up toward the end of all that, but he was no where in my SA bubble until after the BB was taken out.
