The German Carriers event, Ranked Battles, updates to the Modules tab, and other improvements.

IMPORTANT! Because the Update is still being tested, the information in this Bulletin is tentative and reflects the state of game development at the time of its publication. Some changes and new features may be removed entirely or implemented differently by the time the update goes live. Screenshots, specific values of certain characteristics, and details of in-game mechanics will not necessarily be relevant after the Update is released.

AP bombs are more skill-demanding for successful use than HE bombs, but their efficiency is higher, if used correctly. The updated aircraft carriers constitute a relatively young class in the game, and most players have only recently learned how to use AP bombs correctly. Consequently, the overall damage dealt by this type of armament has become too high. We, therefore, decided to systematically lower the maximum damage of AP bombs, but without lowering their penetration. We will watch individual performance of the ships and will take additional actions if needed.

  • The angle at which the check for ricochets is made for her SAP shells decreased from 75 to 70 degrees.
  • Main battery guns reload time increased from 20 to 20.5 s.
  • Rudder shift time increased from 11.6 to 12.6 s.

Engine boost Modification 1 Upgrade

  • Bonus to the action time of the consumable reduced from 50% to 40%.

Other changes

  • The sound effect volume of shells hitting a ship was reduced.
  • Tooltips showing integral characteristics no longer appear when mounting/changing modules.
  • Lighting and shadows in the Hamburg Port were changed.
  • Fixed an error which caused part of the Dockyard interface to appear in the Port screen after closing the Dockyard.
  • Fixed an error due to which the port sounds were not disabled when playing videos at the Dockyard.
  • Fixed an error which caused the progress of combat mission chains to be displayed as incomplete in the battle results window.
  • Fixed some other minor bugs.

German carriers

Update 0.9.6 kicks off a new event centered around German carriers! The Early Access ships will become available on the Live Server only when the Update is released. Meanwhile, we invite you to take part in the testing of the event.

Please note: the rewards for activities on the Public Test server may differ from those on the Live Server. The German carriers themselves won't be available on the Public Test server.

Features of the German carriers

  • Their attack aircraft are equipped with a new type of ammunition — armor-penetrating rockets. When successfully used, these are capable of inflicting heavy damage to enemy citadels. However, they may also ricochet or fail to penetrate armor when hitting a target at an acute angle — in this respect, they function in a similar way to armor-penetrating shells. When striking the thin armor of destroyers at 90-degree angles, they will often over-penetrate and deal 1/10 of the maximum damage.
  • German bombers carry armor-penetrating bombs. An attacking flight dives without first climbing to a higher altitude. As it is quite difficult to adjust the position of the target reticle during an attack, their bombs are most effectively dropped on slower targets.
  • The torpedoes dropped by German aircraft are fast, but have a short-range and cause modest damage.
  • The aircraft themselves have high cruising speeds, but somewhat small HP pools.

Early Access: German carriers Rhein, Weser, and August von Parseval can be obtained by completing special combat missions. These combat missions have a specific probability of dropping from German Carriers containers.

You can get German Carriers containers as rewards for completing Directives, as well as from Daily Shipments. As well as the missions that unlock Early Access to German carriers, German Carriers containers can also drop the new "Black-White-Red" expendable camouflage and other desirable rewards.

You can get German Tokens for completing special chains of combat missions.

Rewards available in exchange for Tokens in the Armory: Iron Cross permanent camouflage for Großer Kurfürst, Z-52, and Hindenburg; "Black-White-Red" expendable camouflage patterns; credits; and signals.

The Port of Hamburg has been updated.

Ranked battles

Update 0.9.6 brings with it a new Season of Ranked Battles with a 7 vs. 7 format, playing Tier VIII ships.

Changes to the Modules tab

The Modules tab has been fully reworked. Adjusting warships before battle became too difficult and inconvenient due to a large number of ship classes and types, as well as their available enhancements. Now, the process of outfitting a ship before entering battle is clearer and will take less time.

  • The tab has been renamed "Equipment."
  • The interface of the Modules block has been improved.
  • You'll be able to manage the upgrades, consumables, and modules of a ship in the same window, without having to switch between different tabs. You can mount modules with a single click.
  • Dependencies between modules of different types have been removed, which makes for a simpler research process. Modules of different types are now intercompatible.
  • You can view any ships you haven't yet purchased in the new "Ship Preview" mode, without a black-and-white filter. To enter this view, click on the icon depicting a camera in the Modules block under the Equipment tab, or on the button in the ship characteristics section of the Tech Tree.

Other Improvements

We've updated the audio parameters in our game and added a number of new sound effects. You can view a detailed list of the various improvements and changes in the Development Blog, as well as in our article about Update 0.9.6.

When Update 0.9.6 hits the Live Servers you'll need to readjust the sound parameters according to your preferences. We recommend setting maximum volume for the sound categories.

The following Ports have been updated to conform to the new lighting model and enhanced HDR technology: Naval Base, Azur Lane, Dragon, and Sarushima Base.

The icons, descriptions, and names of some types of consumables with special parameters have been changed. This will place additional emphasis on the differences between these types of consumables and the standard ones.

it says special feature  you WON'T be able to try the carriers  . how is that a special feature 

and ive been asking in forums for over a week now  WHY ARE WE STILL GETTING SUB TOKENS

So are the directives mentioned part of the current Dockyard directives, or entirely new and separate from everything?

T10 perma camos, in the armory that could be given for free by completing combat missions, I hope there isn’t a catch (although recent EA token rewards like Visby and Mikoyan were guaranteed with the bare minimum, so I do expect to be able to get one of those perma camos if you complete the missions, and there will likely be others requiring specific German premiums not everyone will have where completing them might get you another

you will just have to play better in ranked and clan battles to get the tokens for the T10 camo

Sounds like WG is going back to the old RNG Mission in crate system for the KGM CVs (Like the UK DD missions) instead of the Directive based tokens they've been doing, unless I am reading it wrong.  Definitely better than the Soviet cruiser token system where you had to purchase the perma-camo before you could get the ship...  That was bad in many ways, not everyone likes all of the Perma-Camos.

just what the game needs more broken carriers. destroyers cant defend themselves as it is and you are bringing in more carriers. you know it has gotten bad when the atlanta and the texas are not able to defend themselves from plane attacks. cant stand the rocket ammo for carriers (when a carrier can take away 1/3 to 1/2 of a dds hp in one attack at the beginning of the game it ruins the game. when 1 class of ship makes another class of ship almost completely obsolete then there is a problem

The sub event lasts much longer than the maximum time required to unlock them (7 daily logins if you are unlucky). Sub tokens being granted for the duration of the event ensures that players who started logging in later after the event started have a chance at unlocking them. As for why players who already unlocked the subs are still getting tokens, I can only speculate that WG didn't want to go to the trouble of coding in a verification process to have the tokens stop generating for those players. It's much easier to simply have the tokens generate during the duration of the event for everyone. And if unused tokens are being converted to credits afterward, there might have been complaints from players who were lucky enough to unlock subs on the first day not getting any credit conversions (because no extra tokens) compared to players who unlocked subs on the 7th login getting the maximum amount of credit conversion.

WG trots out yet again another line of largely paper ships while ignoring ships that actually existed, LIKE THE ITALIAN DD's. Worse, it is a type that many players are not interested in and never play - CV's.

I, for one, am NOT excited.:cap_horn:

i already did that and now i have 15 sub tokens  and no where to use them and when i got my subs on the 6th day i didnt get the 21 days rental they claimed i only got 19 days on them 

but no one has said  what will happen to the tokens . when i asked Hapa all he said was you are getting more he didnt mention  what will happen to the unused ones

Only thing I care about in this is the Permacamo for the GK. That will come in handy. Hopefully it isn't a stupid hard grind for it.

I was gonna post the same thing. In a lot of the public tests involving new ships, you cannot access the new ships. So what's the point? German carrier event and no German carriers to test!?!?!?

My understanding is that these German AP bombs will pass through a DD, causing damage but not as bad as HE bombs.

Types of consumables? I thought there was just one type of consumables? Please explain or expand the statement.

I have answered both of these questions. These are the notes for the explanation of the patch and what you are testing, that is where there is a NOTE about not testing the CVs.

As for the tokens I have answered this several times too. They will be converted to 1:15000 credits with 0.9.6, we're giving you more credits. Congrats.
