Today I observed that the Japanese Tier 9 battleship Izumo and the Tier 10 battleship Yamato have NO lifeboats on them. This represents an unsafe working condition for the thousands of virtual sailors that toil on these 2 naval vessels and I request that this oversight be corrected.

If working conditions for our brave virtual heroes is not corrected, I may be obligated to form a virtual union and create a virtual picket line in front of Wargaming offices.

Thank you for your consideration

Nice try, but if you want sailors on deck you'll have to go to the competitor's ship game.

I don't know if IJN ships fall under the jurisdiction of the Canada labour Code.

Aren't lifeboats considered dishonourable by our virtual IJN sailors?  Wouldn't they rather die for their Emperor than be picked up as defeated prisoners in lifeboats?

Life boats were stored under deck and those big doors on the side and rear of the ship would open up and the boat would slide along an overhead rail until clear of the door and side, then be lowered.

I wonder if Yamato was able to get any lifeboats launched IRL? In the famous photos of her blowing up there are DD's circling to pick up survivors but I don't remember if you can see lifeboats in the water.  I don't think many capital ships carried adequate lifeboats, they almost never operated alone so escorts were expected to rescue crew members.  That plus the floater nets and life jackets that crew had were expected to be adequate-not great odds IMO!

The IJN is providing security - that's a provincial jurisdiction.

Check the BC employment standards act

yamatos guns where too powerful, if they kept life rafts on the deck they would be shredded after the first firing of the guns, thats why their internally stored.

Yamato is running under operation Ten-go config. No coming back, no life boats.

TIL. I always wondered what those big doors on the rear quarters were for. :cap_like:
