Took a little longer to finish Stage 3 than I anticipated but got it done. We had a huge Black Bear fight last night in the backyard (yes Bears - real ones - BIG ones). Woke everyone up. Was 2 bad boys (one may have been a sow protecting cubs?) really going at it. They trashed fences and all kinds of feeders and bird houses not to mention  trying to get into the barn to the rubbish before the brawl broke out. We get them here often but have never had 2 at once duke it out. Glad I wasn't outside letting my dog out when they arrived. :Smile_ohmy: Anyway I played some this morning but then spent a few hours cleaning up and fixing up outside while popping back in now and then to try and sort out a clan invite. Came back and finished up this afternoon. So Stage 3 now done. Still have 3 that can be done in Co-op going but they are almost done. The needed 5 are done though.

How goes it for you all?

You should invest in an outdoor webcam. It would make for some interesting videos.

We actually took one of our hunting trail cams and have set it up to film backyard where the main event was. JUST did it earlier.

Nice, would be interesting to see any results. Never had any bears around here, there are some up over the hill about a mile away but none spotted closer. We've had just about everything else in our yard though, deer, moose, coyote, porcupine, fisher, painted turtle, turkeys and a bobcat.

A bear fight sound more interesting than my progress.

Cits/Kills and incaps done.

3+million credits done.  About half fires/torp hits.  Mostly fires.  My DD play was poor.  10 top 3 (see DD play).

One Mikoyan game with 3 cits, so that one will also finish.  No hurry because I have to play it after Wednesday.

50k commander XP to the good.

Whereabouts are you Admiral?  I live in Wyoming and there are bears around here but not that close.  Mountain lions are another story.  Every now and then one can be seen in the city.

As for stage 3, I got the cits/kills and the incapacitation tasks completed.  The others are around 1/3 of the way complete.  Did not have a great day of play, so didn't finish in the top 3 too often, and my torps seem to just sink instead of finding anything metal.  I am guesstimating I will have the directive done sometime Wednesday.

As for tokens, I got 5 more from the news story of the day, bringing my total up to 700, which now nets me the Tallinn perma camo.  YAY.  I MIGHT be able to get the Tallinn for free with 2 weeks left of directives and my Mikoyan mission still left to do.

Mikoyan for her mission, then off to Randoms because I'm trying to get this damn Swirski thing finished. When I got tired of that, I saw I was pretty close to finishing the Dailies, the all-ships kill/citadel mission and the incapacitation ribbons mission. Back to co-op for that, with Akatsuki, Shinonome and ARP Myoko in the starring role.

Directive 3 complete.  Just 3 more Crates available.  Should get those today or tomorrow.

8 of the 11 Crates were only 5 Tokens.  Quite demotivating.

Finished three yesterday and have the two left over (credits and Cdr XP) that will finish as I play on Wednesday for tokens.  Is this Wednesday the last Challenge recharge or next Wednesday??  I think I'll have enough tokens for the Riga.

I think the last stage netted me 110 tokens.  Most so far out of the 12 crates I opened.  I'm not sure how much I'll play today because I'm helping a friend clean firearms of another collector whom isn't feeling well....  Will take all day I suspect and might be educational.  Never know what you'll see.

Switched clans this weekend as AT was talking about ^^^.  Glad to find a new home after everyone left the game.  Saw the Sub news and operations over view and I can't wait to see what subs actually do to the game.....  I plan on playing them till I figure them out.   Other than that, three is in the books and I can't wait till we see what comes next.

Bears............  No thanks.  I have an Officers Model Trapdoor loaded for bear (65 grains of RCB and a pure lead, 505 grain Hollow Point)......  Aye-up, that will do it........works on Buffalo pretty darn good.

We get them every year. Heavy in the spring when they come out of hibernation hungry and then in the fall as they are trying to fatten up for hibernation. They go for bird feeders, gardens, trash cans, PETS!!!!, etc... One year a big one trashed the garden literally the night before we were going to make the big harvest. Lost almost everything not below ground :Smile-angry:).

We get a lot of deer, turkeys (have had almost 100 at one time in the back yard but usually it is 5-20 - the old wise Tom's even come up and sleep on the deck during the day during Turkey season it is a riot), racoons, possums, skunks, squirrels, song birds (have had Eastern Bluebirds, Indigo Buntings, Scarlet Tanagers, Cardinals, Goldfinches, Evening & Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Ruby Throated Hummingbirds, and Baltimore Orioles this year for "pretty birds" so far - has been like a rainbow on the feeders LOL) etc... I even saw a Lynx chasing a deer 2 years ago while deer hunting about 3 miles from the house +/-. Was insane.

We also get Coyotes but that is not a good thing. There is an especially aggressive pack in this area. I have seen them come into the backyard through the stonewall opening and the alpha pee all over with the hair on the back of his neck up. They growl and dig at the ground and sometimes even howl. I assume it is because they smell my dog (10 year old Black Lab female; Sadie)?

I started taking her out front next to the driveway to go once it is dark to be safe. Never put the lights on or anything as the worst thing I expected to run into was a skunk. BUT, one night last summer I walked out of the barn door without checking and they were right in the yard maybe 15-20 feet away and in the street. Sadie was reluctant to go out and was antsy but I was half asleep and not paying attention. Could have gone very bad. The male and female alphas actually charged at us. I grabbed Sadie by the scruff of the neck and almost threw her into the barn and then ran my fat [edited]in behind her and shut the door.

I was so :etc_swear: I grabbed a shotgun and went back out. They were in the street (could see eyes glowing) and going back and forth and even making runs into the yard growling and snarling. I flipped the light on so I could see to shoot but they ran off at that. Warned all neighbors the next day and found out a lot of cats were missing and one lady had them shadowing her while walking her dog.  Have taken one out in the woods behind the backyard since. I want those alphas! Don't want them breeding such an aggressive line around here. I don't go out at night with Sadie now unless I am armed. 2 nights ago they were in the woods behind the house howling up a storm.

Can't let those :etc_swear:'s get my baby...

NH. Not far from the Seacoast (about 45-60 mins depending on traffic) but in a very rural and wood/forest like area. Not on a main road. Woods, streams, swamps, hills, etc... on all sides. It is actually my Brother's house. I got sick in 2017 and had to sell mine. I built a man cave/apartment in the back of the barn. I used to live about 10 mins from the ocean and miss it a lot. It is actually TOO quiet here for me. But with my health issues this is best for now.

The thing about these bears is how big they were. "Most" bears around here (Black only) are 200lbs +/-. IF you shoot a 300+lbs one you got a good one. But these suckers are HUGE and easily top 400-500. The usual bears around here would look like a puppy compared to how big these 2 were. :Smile_hiding:

It's not just the 2-legged critters you need to worry about, it seems. I read stuff about fishermen wanting a .357 magnum or .44 magnum for their tackle box, and now I know why.

Fortunately any bears near me are much smaller than this.

You know what they say about going out in bear country... bring bear spray and wear little silver bells so the bears can hear you coming. And watch out for bear poop, you'll be able to tell it apart from other animal scat because it'll smell spicy and have little silver bells in it.

I just finished phase 3, got 12 containers that netted me 100 tokens.  8 of them for 5 (total 40) 2 for 10 (total 60) one for 15 (total 75) and one for 25 (total 100).  Add that to the 85 I had saved previously, and stage 3 didn't net me ½ the tokens to get the next level (Riga camo).  The biggest one I've gotten so far from free containers is 25.  This appears to be a blatant "buy 500 doubloon wheel of fortune chances" kind of thing, no matter how they have tried to disguise it or use legal loopholes.  This game has become a casino, and we all know the house is always the big winner in that industry.  Nope, not gonna buy any more bundles, the few I bought early on were also 5 token bundles.

I remember back in the French Battleships early release, there was a guy who spammed crates from the premium shop in an effort to get the Richelieu unlock. He came to the forums to spill salt, having (so he claimed) spent $500 on crates and still failed.

The current system, at least, is better than that was. Now you can still spend far more than is reasonable, but you still can't spend as much as he did and you're eventually guaranteed all the stuff.

You can still buy the bundles in the armory in the PTS. I have enough doubloons on my PTS account that I could get them all if I wanted to. I got tired of pushing the button at around about box fifty. I would never dream of spending that many in the live version. Eventually you get to a point where it's cheaper to buy the permacamos up front. The time to stop is long before that, if you start at all. IMHO unless you got the 700 token trove in the first slot (guaranteed Mikoyan and permacamo for Tallinn), it's not worth it.

WOW, I didn't know we had problems with tackle boxes too.  Well a .44 magnum will put those boxes in their place.  :)

Wow, Admiral, that... sounds like something out of a wild west story, or something, lol. :Smile_hiding:

I'm glad you're safe. Hopefully those coyotes learn to stay away from the hoomanz... else, I reckon that some day something really bad might happen to them... which might involve a 12 gauge, lel. :Smile_teethhappy:

One of them already met my 12g.

I am a big guy and can take care of myself even with the MS but I am NOT fighting a pack of uber aggressive Coyotes in the dark or a pair of Black Bears the size of train cars. :Smile_hiding:

And done with 3.  Credits, top 3, and Mikoyan mission finished it out.

Almost done with the fires/torps.  Commander XP will finish before the next patch.

Nothing more motivational than opening 10 straight 5 token containers.

Like that when I lived in Maine in the late 80's.........   Went armed for bear anytime I left the house at night or was in the woods at night:  and, I had a 125 pound female Rottweiler whom was Schutzhund trained (with diving weight collars and a lot of time!).......  She never missed the bad guys; never allowed any of my little children out of her sight; nor allowed "anything" that wasn't park of my "pack" danger close...........and, I'm sure your Lab wouldn't either............  Watch yer top knot Pilgrim........  Although, you Green Mountain boys ain't the faint of heart.........  I am so glad I live in the Great Plains the past few decades.........

I meant as part of the equipment therein, but if tackle boxes get ornery... well, you know what has to be done. :Smile_veryhappy:
