So any one that use's the 150's on the z23 know they feel week vs fast firing dd's  . They can citadel a CL close range but the guns still feel weak vs fast firing boats ..... And i looked over Capt skill wishing the gun skills Basic firing training and advanced fire training would work on those 150's how much better the guns would be .... Than the though came to me ....... Why not let the 150's gun DD's benefit from them .... Would also make the Z52 and Z46 fun option with the big guns . Think it's a great idea ....Let me know what you guys think .

For the reasons you describe i kept the 128mm guns on all the German DDs - I didnt find myself regretting that choice very often at all, particularly since I found the German DDs played better as torpedo boats with guns, rather than gunbotes with torps...

I used the 150mm variant on Z23 because of the double turret at the front.

I feel kinda cheated about how WG promoted German DD to be able to use 150mm and then you notice only Z23 and Gaede are actually able to switch between 128 and 150.

^ This.

I even use the 150mm guns on Gaede as well, simply because I just like those guns more than the 128mm guns. I know it's just me, but still... I just like them, lol.

On a same note, this is also the reason why I personallu prefer Z-39 over T-61, slightly... lel.

I wholeheartedly agree about feeling kinda cheated. I felt sort of the same. I wish there were more German DD's with the option to mount the 150mm guns.

What would solve this would be a long overdue line split into a 150mm armed tree and a 128mm armed one. That'd also solve the issue with inconsistent captain builds, since you could go BFT on one line and not on the other.

I would support this endeavour.

I still think both the 128mm and 150mm guns are a bit too enemic - a bit more firepower would make german DDs more of a true hybrid, and give players the choice between specialising them for gunboating/cap contesting, or torpboating (but not both at the same time).  Splitting the line into 128 and 150mm could help do this as well.

With a split one could apply certain gimmicks that would each help these gun systems. What I got fond of is the thought of giving the 150mm armed line 1/4 pen HE while the 128mm gun line would see an HE Alpha buff to 1,700 (which is what you get with the shell formulas). That way you get one line with a higher theoretical dpm which only works against thinly armored targets like DDs, making them better cap contesters while the other line has a lower theoretical HE dpm but can apply it to larger ships, making them more of a second line option.

Indeed.  You could even have a MBRB on the 150mm line, and a TRB on the 128 line if you really wanted to make them quite different (though would reduce the choice for players as that would be a pretty big nudge).

I agree. Good idea to pass on to Sub Octavian.

Line split is a good idea but still like to see Capt skill work on the DD's 150's .......

but why... the 128mm guns on Z-46 and Z-52 are far superior to those found on Z-23 and below

The 150mm/48 isn't going to punch through cruiser belt armor at T8/9/10, unless it's an ultra light cruiser

The German DD 150s don't even have the same HE Pen as those mounted as CL guns, i.e. Konigsberg, Mainz, Nurnberg, or as Secondaries on their BBs.

Same thing with the 128mm guns like those found on Z-46.  They lack the HE Pen as the Secondaries version found on German BBs.
