95 knot torpedos for the luls

So finally got my Halland and went full torpedo build. Ship upgrades and captain skills. Checked torpedo speed “95 knots”.

Went into battle

 

Now, even grinding the Pan Euro DD line I'm still learning as once to T10 the margin of error is the least forgiving. Teethed on the USN line and still used to the safety net of smoke I’ve made some mistakes.

However I did get to play a couple games and got a “Damn those are fast!” out of a red Z who was trying to evade. It was a lul for sure. 
 

I like it, it’s fun. If I need to change the build to do better I will. As of right now, I like it.

You keeping the 15 km range?

I find launching at expected ships around 13 to 15 gets me some hits on unsuspecting ships.

5kt over 90 at the cost of 3km range is just not worth it. 12km brings you just inside of Russian radar range. And closer to red DDs without smoke to disengage.

I run the Mark 17 with torpedo accelerator on my gearing and it’s roughly the same range.

Basically as long as I can torpedo ships beyond 10km I’m good. Plus I wanted to max it out and see how fast they can go.

Are you running RPF?

I have gotten a few dev strikes and a lot of hits by launching early towars an indicated bearing on a cap....

Of course I'm only using the modoules that increase speed, and TAE....

Agreeing with the others, wasting a whole 3km range for a mere 5 knot increase is not worth it. The strength of 15km+high speed is that you can torp targets that run away, especially when having to stay out of radar range. Even worse if the fact that you're wasting captain skills.
