Useless Mutsuki, and other problems.

This ship is absolutely useless!

1.  In the last dozen games, virtually every hit from destroyer cannon fire causes loss of steering or loss of propulsion.  Even thought one propeller is hit and knocked out, the other which is still turning does nothing and the ship still comes to a stop most of the time.  That is not right!

2.  This ship is suppose to be anti-aircraft fire support.  it is outfitted with 6 flak guns but fires machine gun rounds.  The two are not the same.

3.  This ship has two useless slow moving, slow loading guns.  It is far too slow in reloading time. 

 

Smoke screen,,

4.  This ship needs at least TWO more smoke charges with less time in between waiting if you wan tit to escort or protect larger ships.

 

Torpedoes,,,

5.  The torpedo locking does not work.  many times I cannot get the torpedo lock to lock onto a target even though its in range.  Sometimes it locks onto the wrong target and I cant change it.

I want the torpedo lock to work just like the guns.  How hard can that be to do that?

6.  How do you get the torpedoes to stay submerged like the A.I. and only break surface at the last moment when its too late to change course?????????

7.  How come only the British frigates can launch torpedoes one at a time?  Torpedoes should be able to fire one at a time.

7.  In my last game I launched 6 torpedoes into a battleship and did ZERO damage?  I cannot figure that one out!

8.  Yesterday I had 12 torpedoes come at me from an island, and there were no other ships or aircraft in that direction or vicinity.  What kind of [edited] is that?

Torpedoes from an island ...must have been two minekazies. The great japanese DD nerf that happens acouple of years ago killed the line. As for zero damage, hard to believe. you may have hit an already damaged topedo protection buldge. Seen it happen .

1. That happens to all DDs, you should run Last Stand on your captain to reduce that.

2. Uh, no. IJN DDs are renown for their lack of AA. You're not supposed to be shooting anything down.

3. Yeah, IJN DDs are not gunboats. Only use them to finish off nearly dead ships. The main event is the torps.

That's not the IJN DD role. USN DDs have the escort smoke. IJN DD smoke is for hiding yourself only, and your stealth should reduce the amount you have to use smoke in the first place.

6. They don't, and neither do the AIs. You always spot your own teams torpedoes.

7. RN DD thing, makes them special. Other lines don't get that.

8. Well there's a bug sometimes that never despawns the torpedo visuals. But again, replay?

 

Sounds like to me you don't really know how to play IJN DDs. I suggest you go watch some Youtube tutorials, because most of your problems are just you trying to do things the ships aren't designed to do.

Do you have Last Stand on the captain? Game doesn't care how many props/rudders your ship has. You lose all or none.

All DDs have tissue paper protecting their rudder and props. Last Stand is a MUST (way above the requirement  some ships had for IFHE). Any shells landing on your stern (like when you are trying to run away) have a chance of taking out props or rudder or both.

2. Compared to the Kamikaze or Minekaze it is an AA monster. 

3. Agreed everybody wants to get into a gun fight with a Mutsuki. The guns are relatively quick turning and firing though. Have you played the Minekaze? 4 guns but they are glacially slow (for DD guns)

4. More smoke is always good. WG isn't going to add any so run premium and get Superintendent if you want more.

5. If you lock onto the wrong ship, try to hover over the right ship and hit the X key. To some extent torps are better than guns. The lead indicator shows where to aim (assuming the target keeps the same speed and course)

6. Torp detection is set. NOTHING you can do to change it. You can't make your torps sneakier than what WG has dictated.

7. Single launch is a Brit feature. Their wide spread is a normal spread for others. Many lines get special features. French DDs get Main Battery Reload Booster (but no smoke). Germans and Brits get Hydro, others get adjustments to how long their smoke lasts.

 

Mutsuki (aka Mutsucki) is not a great ship. It has many shortcomings

1) last stand captain skill is a must for a destroyer. 

2) your in an IJN DD, no such thing as AA.

3) your in an IJN DD, T8 to T10 gunboat line changes that.

4) your in an IJN DD, smoke screens not for team use.

5) to lock your torpedoes on a target, look at them and press X.

6) your not using homing torps.

7) your torpedoes have a minimum arming distance. Don't close closer than the closest part of green cone.

8) some maps have a glitch were torps going through island.

Some of the islands are made out of styrofoam so float pretty high therefore torps can pass right under them.:Smile_trollface::Smile_bajan2:
