I hope this game is more like W.o.T. then the game I am currently beta testing. I have suggested for the developers of that game to look at how W.o.T is set up to run to see how good of a job you folks have done. If World of Warships is on par with W.o.T. I will be very pleased. Double blind is the only way to play ships with any kind of realism.

Welcome to the forums!

You can't even give us a name of the other game? I'm intrigued.  :)

Liked WOTs a lot but have always been a navy fan so as long as its similar to WOTs which I'm sure it will be, it'll be one of my favorite games of all time I'm sure.

I hope they manage to engineer WoWs better than WoWp. I just can't see WoWp ever catching on as much as WoWs, and it's given me low hopes for the popularity of WoWs

WoWP also suffers from running smack dab into a little thing called War Thunder.

I feel that WoWs will be a niche market, more-so than WoT, if and only if people have played games with tanks before, while few have played naval arcade/simulators. I still think it will be amazing, though I absolutely loved Destroyer Command.

The only problem with a flight game is there is a steeper learning curve to play well than there seems to be in WoT and (hopefully) WoWS.  I base this on friends I have tried to get interested in the beta testing of WoWP.  These friends were interested in the idea of flight sims but not willing to keep practicing at keyboard/mouse controls or invest in a joystick.  These same friends are interested in WoWS coming out and I'm hoping the learning curve is more along the lines of WoT - and I'm kind of betting it will be simply because of the control issue.  We'll see, I'm pretty hopeful.

Most folks have a really hard time thinking in three dimensions.  Add the extra workload of airspeed and keeping the aircraft in the air and not splattered all over the side of a cliff or mountain somewhere and you have a recipe for the majority of the populace not being mentally capable of aerial combat.  Bear in mind that many air combat games are not true flight simulators either, and folks still have a hard time with it.  They'd really have a hard time with real world physics thrown in - propellor torque, differing stall characteristics based on bank angle, full rudder control including the ability to slip the aircraft, power on stalls, etc.
