hello ,
first of all condolence for ppl who died bcuz of pandemic,

I just want to share something I know during pandemic, we Indonesians usually consume ginger, turmeric, and other herbs (curcumin), fruits that have vit C and E everyday that can increase immunity, maybe try this for consumption every day:

5 cm (about the size of a thumb) ginger root and turmeric root, then boiled with 300 cc of water, for + - 15 minutes, so the water becomes + - 200 c, pour into a glass, wait for warm then mix 2 tablespoons of honey, stir, then  drink it,
would be better, if mixed with minimum vitamin C 500 mg and vit E, this remedy is useful for boosting the immune system ( our body will produce antibody shorter / about 3-4 days compare to normal time, its about 10 - 14 days )

so i hope it may be useful

keep strong , and stay healthy,

cya

Concoctions that are anecdotally said to "boost" the immune system may lull people into a false sense of security by making them think that they are actually doing something to treat an illness.

The best way to have a good immune systems is the 1. be born with good genes and not have any immune-system genetic disorders such as Lupus 2. eat well and not have a vitamin deficiency 3. not have any underlying illnesses, especially those that depress the immune system or require you to be on immune-suppressing drugs 4. have had all of the commonly-recommended immunizations as a child and have been exposed naturally to small amounts of pathogens over a lifetime so that your body has developed a decent immune response over time. 5. practice good hygiene.

Note too that the primary cause of death from COVID-19 is not from the actions of the virus per se but from the body's response to it. In essence it's your own immune system that kills you by creating what is called a cytokine storm, which results in inflammation and edema in the lungs that leads to respiratory failure as well as other organ failures.

Most traditional remedies and home "cures" are merely placebos or only act to alleviate some of the symptoms of disease. That's not to say that there are not some traditional remedies that are effective in certain ways. However, until the advent of modern science and the ability to understand what was actually going on at the biochemical level even the best remedies were still hit or miss and many actually killed more people than the illness that they were supposed to cure through ignorance of proper doses, side effects, organ damage, or long-term heavy metal poisoning of the body.

boost mean to speed up antibody production and make more antibody for specific virus ( this mean for sars-cov2 ) , normally our body immune system need about 7 to 14 days to produce antibody for specific virus in first infection  ( on 2nd, 3rd , and so on infection, immune system need just about 1 - 3 days to produce specific antibody that alrdy record on our cell ), so we hope with this herbs remedy it will speed up to 4-7 days only,

because until now we have not found a drug / medicine or vaccine to ward off this virus, and keep in mind, what we are doing now in Indonesia and maybe people in other places  / countries are to consume the ingredients that I mentioned above, specifically in Indonesia this herbs are one of our culture heritages and  our consumption based on recommendations from health experts in our country, and also based on info from patients around the world who have recovered ( they only consume vitamins C, E, D, zinc, curcumin and take paracetamol if fever (on days 4 to 10)  note: patients with mild to moderate symptoms, not patients with comorbidities or critical conditions,

the point is I'm just trying to share in this pandemic, maybe we have different opinions, whatever that is, keep strong and healthy
and its just a fresh ginger root, turmeric root, lemon, orange and tomato for vit C and E anyway, lol, not mambo jumbo synthetic chemical thingie,

good bye

The only way to get your body to produce antibodies specific to a pathogen is to expose it to the pathogen or a molecule that mimics a certain part of the pathogen. Taking vitamins and "supplements" isn't going to do a thing in this regard. If you are malnourished then vitamins are going to help you maintain your health and there is some indication that certain substances can lessen the effects of certain illnesses but this usually isn't because of antibody production. The biochemistry of the cell's response to disease is extremely complex. I have three degrees in biology and two in allied health and I barely even grasp the basics.

Don't put too much faith in traditional herbalism to cure disease.  If traditional medicine actually was better than modern medicine then those areas where people were using it would plainly show much less disease than those areas where they were not. This is not the case. At best some of these treatments will have placebo or symptomatic effects. Most do nothing and may lull people into complacency when they should be seeking medical help. For instance, a lot of Chinese are consuming bear bile as a "traditional" medicine but this has no effect whatever on a virus. At worst, a lot of these "cures" are actually deadly. In Iran, hundreds died from drinking methanol because someone told them it would cure the disease.

, i dont want to to continue this debate,  less ethical sense of arguing at a critical time like this,  thousand people dying everyday, while we confuse like our cytokine ( since it was new virus , need time for our immune system )  to find medicine or vaccine for this new mutated corona virus ( maybe its 7th gen of corona ) ,
i just wanna share about drink ginger root, turmeric root, lemon - orange, and tomato juice that mix with nature  honey during this pandemic, lol

u should find and hear, about some ppl drink dettol , its real, its happen in 1 our remote island, poor ppl

ok, good bye, and good luck, keep strong and healthy

This is good advice. Though I have a considerable amount of medical training I would not presume to give medical advice on a gaming forum. Even seemingly innocuous advice like "eat plenty of ginger" may cause considerable harm to some people if they are allergic to the plant or if they are taking medicines or have a condition that may be exacerbated by substances found in the root.

For those who are curious about general aspects of biology, health, and hygiene I can outline some things that they might wish to research in order to reach an informed decision for themselves though. The main things that people can do to help prevent catching a communicable disease are to avoid being in close proximity to other people, drink only from a known-clean water source, wash your hands frequently, and avoid touching your face.

New York hospitals treating coronavirus patients with vitamin C
A spokesman for Northwell — which operates 23 hospitals, including Lenox Hill Hospital on Manhattan’s Upper East Side — said vitamin C was being “widely used” as a coronavirus treatment throughout the system.

Can Vitamin C Protect You from COVID-19?
No supplement will cure or prevent disease. Vitamin C doesn’t appear to make you any less likely to get a cold — but it may help you get over a cold faster and make the symptoms less severe

Former CDC Chief Dr. Tom Frieden: Coronavirus infection risk may be reduced by Vitamin D
The science supports the possibility – although not the proof – that Vitamin D may strengthen the immune system, particularly of people whose Vitamin D levels are low. Vitamin D supplementation reduces the risk of respiratory infection, regulates cytokine production and can limit the risk of other viruses such as influenza. A respiratory infection can result in cytokine storms – a vicious cycle in which our inflammatory cells damage organs throughout the body – which increase mortality for those with COVID-19. Adequate Vitamin D may potentially provide some modest protection for vulnerable populations.

At the very least take the recommend dosage of a multi-vitamin.

imnot interesting  and respect to debate, since u keep pushing and insist that i give medical advice, i already  explain as i can that i just simply sharing what we do in our country especially, imnot advice to drink avigan or chloroquine or primaquine if u get fever in this pandemic,

i dont mind share anything positive anywhere, its because humanity that we did in our country and our neighbour country , ( u forget  mention lemon, orange and tomato is that dangerous thing too like dettol or methanol drink by unlucky poor ppl ? ), i think i cant share anything positive on this community,  my assumed was wrong about it, so maybe skip and igmore my experience drink  fresh ginger, turmeric , orange lol, lemon, lol and natural honey LOL ....

maybe u should more learn about ginger, turmeric.....maybe it can add more knowledge than presume, guessing, assume,
ok, bye , anything u post later, i will ignore it .....
