Give us ship's coat-of-arms as patches!

There's an idea:

Players should be able to use a ship's coat-of-arms as their patch!

Many of them look really cool, so WG/Lesta would be playing to their strength, a nice change of pace after the CV rework, Puerto Rico, IFHE rework, Upgrade rework etc. And while the "dog tags" and emblems are so annoying after you get killed that many players use the Dog Tag Remover mod to avoid them, the coats-of-arms might conceivably not cause that reaction, or less so. Certainly not take the naval history buffs out of the moment quite as strongly.

You could make it so that players receive the coat-of-arms once they research a ship, or purchase it, or once it gains Elite status, or maybe even only after meeting additional requirements, meaning to say some combat mission. Or even fulfill a personal assignment tailored to the ship's role.

And while some ships currently in the game may not have had a coat-of-arms historically, and many others didn't even exist historically, that could also easily be turned into a win by letting players come up with designs and have a little contest for each one. Knock up a little in-game voting app and you could have one or more of those every week. Loads of player micro-engagement, conceivably for years.
